About me

Are you looking for a safe space to explore your feelings and move forward? Maybe you've been feeling that something needs to change, but you can't put your finger on what, why, or where to turn next. If you're tired of putting on a front and secretly struggling through, I may be able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my profile. I'm Rhiannon, an experienced UKCP-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist, working in central Hertford in person, outdoors, and online. I know that choosing someone to entrust yourself to, in such deeply personal matters, is a big decision, so I aim to offer a space that feels warm, not stiff or clinical where you can put down the masks and the “I'm fine”s, and be met with compassion and curiosity, week on week.

Psychodynamic work my area of speciality isn't about quick fixes or plastering over the cracks. It's slow, steady, and exploratory. Together, we'll navigate not only your current life situations, but also the underlying feelings, experiences, and relationships that shape how you see yourself, often without you realising it. Over time, this builds real insight and a stronger sense of self, along with the inner resources to face whatever life brings next.

I work with adults on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and stress, low mood, self-esteem and identity, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions, bereavement and loss, trauma, and burnout. I have a special interest in supporting high achievers and perfectionists, sole carers, and those navigating career or significant life-stage transitions.

As well as in-person and online sessions, I also offer therapy outdoors for those who find this a more natural or freeing way to reflect and talk.

I warmly invite you to get in touch for a complimentary 15-minute call, to see how I might be able to help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a rigorous five-year clinical training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with the British Psychotherapy Foundation, one of the UK's leading psychotherapy training institutions, and I'm accredited and regulated by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I have years of experience working across multiple clinics with patients from all walks of life, both in person and online. My background includes work within the NHS at South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, one of the UK's largest NHS mental health services. In addition to my experience in clinics and the NHS, I have experience in a range of mental health settings, such as the Prison Advice and Care Trust and university mental health services. These, alongside an earlier career in financial services and management consultancy in the UK and internationally, as well as a breadth of personal lived experience, bring me a depth of understanding and perspective on the pressures of modern life and mental health from personal or professional stress to major life transitions.

I also hold postgraduate training in Outdoor and Adventure Therapy with the University of the Highlands and Islands, which qualifies me to work with clients in local greenspaces around Hertford. For some, sitting indoors face to face can feel like too much outdoor sessions can offer a more accessible, natural way to access support, whilst benefiting from the additional mental health benefits of nature and movement.
