About us

Together, we’ve created a space where clients are welcomed with warmth and understanding, and supported to reconnect with who they truly are, so they can grow in the direction that feels right for them and have a deeper sense of self and authenticity.

We believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we pride ourselves on being inclusive, whether you prefer the warmth of face-to-face sessions or the ease and flexibility of virtual appointments, support is always within reach. Our goal is to create a space that feels safe, adaptable, and deeply connected.

At Resilient Root Therapy, our approach is Person-Centred. Inspired by the work of Carl Rogers, we believe that real change happens in a space built on empathy, compassion, and respect.

Our role is to walk alongside you, offering support, reflection, and understanding as you explore what’s happening in your world.

We don’t offer advice or pass judgement. Just a warm, welcoming space where you can share at your pace and begin to reconnect with yourself as you navigate life’s challenges and move forward with greater clarity and inner calm.

Training, qualifications & experience

We are two qualified Person-Centred Counsellors who have established a private practice grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each individual’s unique experience.

We have both completed Level 2, Level 3, and a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, providing a strong foundation in therapeutic theory and practice.

Our experience includes working within a counselling charity setting, where we have supported both women and men through a wide range of challenges. These include sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma, anxiety, depression, and broader life difficulties.

In addition to our core counselling training, one of us holds a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care, including specialist learning in bereavement and end-of-life support, alongside experience in mental health, dementia care, and paediatric neurodevelopment. This has deepened an ability to offer compassionate support in complex and sensitive situations.

The other brings over 15 years of experience in education, working closely with children and families, as well as supporting neurodiverse individuals. This background informs a compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to counselling.

Together, we are committed to offering a safe, calm, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported at their own pace

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.

We offer support with a wide range of presenting issues. You don’t need a diagnosis or a specific reason to reach out for support - sometimes it’s simply about wanting things to feel different, and that’s enough.
