About me

Compassionate and experienced therapist. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or simply a sense of being stuck, my aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create positive and lasting change in your life. I work with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or impacted by difficult experiences either in the past or present, helping them make sense of what’s going on and finding ways forward that feel achievable.

You may not be sure where to start or have a sense that something isn’t working. My aim is to help you feel more at ease in yourself, better understand your experiences, and move forward at your pace.

I have a particular interest in working with ADHD, anxiety, the impact of trauma, as well as difficulties around self-esteem, self-worth and identity. I also support people through periods of change and transition, including menopause and later life.

In addition to my counselling work, I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists, providing a reflective and supportive space for professional development.

Training, qualifications & experience

Fully qualified BACP registered integrative therapist with a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Level 6 CPCAB Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision.

I have experience supporting a wide range of clients, including veterans, older adults, and individuals living with complex health needs or terminal illness. My work includes supporting those affected by trauma, including domestic abuse and sexual violence, and I practise from a trauma-informed, person-centred perspective.

Alongside my counselling work, I bring over 25 years’ experience across support coordination, complex care, community-based health initiatives, and the education sector. This includes roles with organisations such as Age UK, Macmillan, women’s services, supporting young people at risk, and teaching.

This breadth of experience has given me an understanding of clients' complex and challenging life circumstances, as well as the wider systems that can impact wellbeing.

I also value the role of creativity in the therapeutic process, and where appropriate, I draw on arts-based approaches to support expression, connection, and healing.

My approach is grounded in person-centred counselling, alongside additional training in - - trauma-informed work

-somatic therapy

- nervous system regulation

-polyvagal-informed approaches

I work flexibly, because I don’t believe there is a single way that therapy should look, each person brings their own story, needs, and way of processing.

Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling

Level 6 CPCAB qualification in therapeutic supervision

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
