Counsellor/Clinician BaHon Science MBACP,

About me

Starting your counselling journey is a big step, but is also quite a scary step which is why its important that you find the right counsellor for you. My approach is to embark on the therapeutic journey together to give you back your power to enable you to move forward, gaining confidence and emotional control back in to your life. Each person is unique and individual which is how I approach each person with in sessions, as an individual, unique person, to meet your individual needs.

I’m a specialist therapist working with children and young people aged 6 and up. I excel in building trusting, empowering relationships that enable young people to express themselves and develop a deeper understanding of their emotions and self-awareness. I have completed extensive training in autism and ADHD, with a particular focus on understanding the unique but differing needs of both boys and girls.

I also draw on my past nursing skills as well as my military service experience having served in the Royal Air Force in operational environments to be able to support ex-military personnel with the challenges of transitioning out of service as well as PTSD with being in operational environments My nursing background in addiction recovery enables me to offer compassionate support to those facing drug, alcohol, and gambling issues.

Also providing a safe, supportive space where your grief is seen, heard, and respected. Helping individuals process loss, find meaning, and move forward at their own pace.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
