About me

I’m Rachel, an accredited trauma-informed and relational psychotherapist. You might be seeking therapy to address relationship challenges, cope with self-doubt or anxiety, heal from past trauma, or find ways to thrive in a world that may not always accommodate your needs. In our work together, your experiences will be understood within the broader context of your life. I believe personal growth happens in a safe, accepting, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic space. My experience is working with survivors of relational abuse, guided by present-moment experience, grounded in trust, safety, and choice.

There is no single therapeutic approach that fits everyone, given unique lived experiences and personal preferences. Sessions may include cognitive interventions to help reframe experiences. You may also wish to learn about the neurobiology of trauma, how our brains and bodies adapt to survive in the world, and begin to thrive as we heal. As a trained yoga teacher and somatic practitioner, you may consider body-based, emotionally focused interventions or art-based techniques during our work together.

I'll encourage & support new ways of relating to yourself and others, empowering you to make choices that align with your values and needs. Whilst therapy can be challenging, it can also bring a sense of joy and wonder, fostering greater self-awareness and the ability to respond to life’s challenges with more flexibility, compassion, and resilience.

Training, qualifications & experience

I was a teacher and school leader for 22 years, specialising in working with children and families of children with SEND / ALN and Trauma, often working therapeutically to improve outcomes. I'm an advocate for parents and children, often trying to navigate a world that is not designed for their needs.

I have a Master's in Psychotherapy (distinction), predominantly working with young people, adults, and survivors of relational abuse and trauma.
