About me

I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist working in Stoke Newington, London Bridge and online. I specialise in an Existential approach which recognises the pain, confusion, messiness and beauty of being human and asking - how might I live amongst all this, in this world? What is a meaningful life for me?

I offer a space and relationship to be with you at your edges. To be with your pain, sadness, anger, shame, fear, with your hopes and desires. To begin to explore together. It is a space in which we can wonder together what narratives about yourself you may hold - and be curious about them. I see therapy as a place to sit with unfamiliar questions and look in less familiar ways, an endeavour that can help understand yourself more deeply and open up possibilities for living.

You will have your own unique reasons for seeking therapy but if it is helpful to know, themes I commonly work with include; loss, low self esteem and feelings of worthlessness, anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, self harm,  relationship issues including with sex and intimacy, loneliness, rejection, identity, crisis of meaning, sexuality, abortion, eating disorders, bullying and trauma including sexual violence.

I work longer term / open ended allowing us freedom for unfolding at your pace, deep exploration, and to work towards an ending when you feel ready. That being said I am happy to discuss with you financial / other constraints on our work and move forward with this ending in mind.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a post Masters certificate in Existential psychotherapy, MA in Existential psychotherapy and post graduate diploma in Integrative psychotherapy and counselling - all completed through Regents University. Prior to this I completed a foundation year with The Awareness Centre, totalling 5 years training in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also hold a BSc in Health Studies with First Class Honours.

Alongside private practice I have worked as a Therapist for MindConnect and Mosaic - working with young adults and LGBTQ+ young people respectively.

Prior to working as a Psychotherapist I spent sixteen years working in the voluntary sector working with older people, carers and young people both directly and leading national teams and projects.
