About me

badge1.png

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and work in strict adherence to the Ethical Framework stipulated by the NCS.

I am proud to be held on the Accredited Voluntary Register in accordance with NCS and the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR) was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public.
Being accredited to this register demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, enhancing safety and delivering a better service.

I work with Anger Management, Couples and Relationship Counselling, Alcohol, Bereavement, Loss, Addiction, Rejection, Sexual issues, Loss of confidence, Low self-esteem, Sleep, Anxiety and many other areas whilst fully appreciating that each one of these areas comes with a myriad of issues that will be different for each client and possible each session.

I manage my own private practice based in Bewdley Worcestershire, and I am also an experienced bereavement counsellor. I have also volunteered as Health & Wellbeing Ambassador to Royal Mail Kidderminster and I am pleased to be included on the list of approved counsellors for West Midlands Police.

As well as my Diploma in Therapeutic Practice I am a Reiki master but I will not refer to this side of my practice unless a client specifically expresses an interest in it.

First sessions are up to approximately  30 minutes and will be for the purpose of mutual assessment. This is at a fee of £25

So how do I work?

My overall style comes from the Humanistic, Person Centred approach, whereby I offer the client my total and unconditional respect without judgement or question from the very beginning of the relationship.

With this in place the client will learn to trust not only me the counsellor but the relationship that they are entering into. And from this trust comes a comfort in being able to talk and be listened to.

I offer a venue of calmness and safety governed at all times by a strict ethical adherence to confidentiality.

So whereas I am predominantly a Person-centred counsellor, I will draw from a number of models and techniques in order to provide clients with a suitable and worthwhile experience.

It is important to me that I help a client to have an understanding of the development process that they become involved in, as this enables them to be comfortable with their new and growing awareness not only of themselves but of all around them.

PLEASE NOTE:-
I choose not to work with clients younger than 25 years of age. Neither do I work with clients seeking Pre-trial therapy.

I thank you again for reading my profile and should you wish to contact me please either call me  (if I am busy please leave a message on my voice mail and I shall return your call as soon as possible), or email me at PTcounselling@yahoo.com .

Many Thanks for your time.
