About me

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in difficult patterns? You may be dealing with work stress, relationship challenges, family pressures, trauma, or emotionally abusive experiences — and finding it hard to manage everything on your own.

I’m Pav, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Nottingham. I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, stress, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties, including narcissistic abuse, coercive control, domestic abuse, and complex family dynamics.

I offer both evening and daytime appointments during the week, as well as limited weekend availability, online and in person.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure where to begin or worried about saying the “right” thing. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out before reaching out — we can start wherever feels manageable for you.

I offer a calm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s happening in your life and how it’s affecting you emotionally, mentally, and physically. My approach is trauma-informed, meaning I’m mindful of how past experiences and long-term stress can continue to shape the present.

I have experience supporting clients with:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Depression and low mood
  • Work-related stress and burnout
  • Relationship difficulties and attachment issues
  • Complex family dynamics
  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Emotional abuse and narcissistic relationships
  • Domestic abuse and coercive control
  • Trauma and childhood experiences
  • Carers’ stress and emotional exhaustion

I also recognise the importance of culture, identity, upbringing, and lived experience in shaping how we relate to ourselves and others. I offer a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach and welcome clients from all backgrounds.

If you’d like to see whether we might be a good fit, you’re welcome to book a free 20-minute consultation call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

How Sessions Work
I offer one-to-one counselling for adults, either short-term or long-term. Many clients attend weekly sessions, but we’ll find a pace that feels right for you.

There is no fixed number of sessions. We will regularly review how therapy is going and what you need from the process.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, placing care, respect, safety, and integrity at the centre of my work.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will shape the space together around your needs.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

If you require wheelchair accessibility for your sessions, please let me know in advance so I can arrange a suitable ground-floor room. Thank you.
