About me
I am Paula Miles, a dedicated Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over 3 years experience.
My journey to psychotherapy was driven by my own battles with anxiety and depression years ago, which now deeply connect me with my clients and my work in my practice. I know from experience and training how anxiety impacts your life and career.
I specialize in helping clients navigate and overcome these challenges by exploring the unconscious roots of their anxiety through Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
My approach is compassionate and personalized, focusing on empowering you to break free from self-destructive patterns and lead a more authentic, fulfilling life.
Sessions are available both in person and online, tailored to meet your unique needs.
In my practice, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions. My services are designed to uncover the root causes of your anxiety and provide you with the tools to transform your life. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, imposter syndrome, or feeling stuck in life, I’m here to guide you towards healing and self-discovery. Let’s work together to help you regain control and embrace a life of greater peace and authenticity.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a background in Oil and Gas Management and spent over 9 years working as a Process Consultant & Senior Technical Project Manager in major multinational corporations.
My journey into psychotherapy started a few years ago with now over 3 years experience as a psychotherapist. I was driven by my personal experiences with anxiety and depression.
I am currently studying for an MSc in Psychology, I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Also I hold Behavioural training techniques, trauma focused training & mindfulness.
Today, my practice focuses on Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, helping clients address the root causes of their struggles to achieve lasting change.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
