About me
Many of the men I work with have spent years pushing things down, coping alone, or feeling they should just “get on with it” — until life becomes too heavy to carry quietly.
I work specifically with men and understand that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or difficult to talk about. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and be properly heard.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 25 years working in the construction industry, with some of that time spent running my own business. I understand the pressures many men carry — the expectation to cope, keep going, provide, and stay strong even when struggling internally.
Working in male-dominated environments gave me first-hand insight into how often emotional difficulties are hidden behind humour, silence, anger, overwork, or isolation.
I support men experiencing:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Anger
- ADHD
- OCD
- Relationship difficulties
- Low self-worth
- The lasting effects of Bullying
- The impact of covert abuse, narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and relational trauma on men,
- Difficult relationships with Fathers, Step fathers, Mums partner and brothers.
Working one-on-one, you can talk privately within a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space. We will work through your current situation and what’s brought you to reach out.
We can talk about your past, reflecting on the specific events you may wish to discuss and how they have impacted you.
You deserve the time and space to focus on yourself and build a more fulfilling life. Being truly heard by someone who listens and understands your world can be a powerful part of that process. Many of my clients find counselling rewarding because, often for the first time in a long while, they allow themselves the opportunity to put their own wellbeing first.
If something here resonates with you, you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A first conversation is simply a chance to see whether we feel like the right fit. I am here for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years working in the construction industry, where I also ran a successful business. From the outside, life appeared successful, yet internally I often felt unhappy, low, and unfulfilled. Despite achieving many of the things I thought would bring happiness, I still felt stuck and disconnected from myself.
Taking the step into counselling was not easy, but it became life-changing. Through several years of personal therapy, I gained a deeper understanding of myself, my experiences, and the patterns that had shaped my life. The process helped me make meaningful changes and ultimately led me towards becoming a therapist myself.
Because of my own journey, I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support. For many men, even searching through a counselling directory can take months of internal struggle and courage. Starting therapy is not about “talking to a stranger” — it is about being supported by a trained professional who is there to listen, understand your world, and help you make sense of what you are carrying.
My lived experience, professional training, and continued development in working specifically with men allow me to offer both empathy and understanding from both sides of the therapeutic relationship. I consider it a privilege to support people in creating meaningful changes in their lives, just as therapy once helped me to do.
