About me

If you are struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, bereavement, or major life change, I could help.

It could be that you have been feeling something was wrong for some time and now feel ready to talk it over with someone.

Perhaps something has happened that has suddenly made you see life differently, and you are struggling to cope, or you have spotted a pattern in your life that you would like to change, and you are asking yourself:

“Do things always have to be this way, or can I change this?

Contact me by email, and I will call you to arrange an initial counselling session. If I am the right counsellor for you and you are happy to go ahead, we will set up a mutually convenient time to meet weekly.

The sessions are entirely yours to talk about any issues that concern you. We will explore together the problems you face; you will be in control of the pace and what you choose to bring to talk about.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have trained in psychodynamic counselling, which is based on the theory that problems in our adult lives can be understood by exploring our early experiences.

I have a diploma in psychodynamic counselling accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), so you can be sure that I have undertaken rigorous training and continue to keep up to date with the latest developments.

I am a volunteer counsellor at Chichester Counselling Services where I did my training. I am working towards accreditation.

I am also having regular supervision to ensure that my work conforms to the BACP guidelines. If you are curious to know if therapy could help you, then please contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
