About me

Hello I'm Nic. If you are struggling with something in your life at the moment I'm here to listen and help you to discover, explore and understand your difficult thoughts, behaviours and feelings such as anxiety, anger, sadness, guilt, fear. My approach is warm, calm and gentle, non-judgemental and empathic and flexible according to your individual needs.

How I work is trauma-informed and so I will ensure that we work in a safe way to help you manage your well-being.

I work affirmatively with diversity.

In our work together we'll find a way that helps you to move forward with your life and promote the change and growth that you desire.

I offer counselling in-person in my private therapy room based in Thatcham, West Berkshire or online via zoom. We can also work outdoors where we will be surrounded by nature either walking or sitting.

As a qualified humanistic, integrative counsellor I can draw upon several different models of counselling work, (Person-Centered, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis) which can help you to unlock, explore and find deeper understanding to aspects of your self so you can focus on your strengths and capabilities.

I specialize in bereavement counselling. I can help if you are struggling with the death of someone close to you.  My experience working with bereaved clients as a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support for over 15 years has helped me get greater understanding of how people's lives are devastated by their loss.

I offer bereavement counselling for people who have lost a beloved pet.

Grief may also occur if you have a change in lifestyle that means you are struggling to cope such as loss of a relationship/friendship, loss of a job, change in health or physical circumstances.

If you would like some more information and in advance of our first session, I offer a 15 minute telephone call, FREE of charge, so we can introduce ourselves, discuss your needs and I'll talk a little more about how I can help you.

Contact me to find out more or to book an appointment.
