About me

When life shifts

Life can change in ways you expect, and in ways you don't.

I'm a BACP-registered counsellor working with individuals and couples in Richmond and East Sheen, in person, online or by phone.

You might be adjusting to a cancer diagnosis or discovering that the emotional impact has continued after treatment ended. Menopause that arrived suddenly through surgery or treatment. Burnout that has finally caught up with you. Grief, or a relationship that doesn't feel like it used to. Or you might be neurodivergent, navigating a world that wasn't built around how your mind works.

Many people also come to me with anxiety, low self-confidence or a sense of feeling overwhelmed, especially during big life changes. You might know exactly what you want to talk about, or have no idea where to start. Both are welcome.

I won't rush you to explain yourself. I'd rather understand how it actually feels from where you're standing, including the parts of yourself you may have stopped trusting.

How I work

I’m steady and thoughtful in how I work. I listen carefully, ask questions when they may help, and pay attention to patterns as well as to what can be difficult to put into words.

Cancer and what comes after treatment is a particular interest of mine, including surgical or chemical menopause and the exhaustion and identity shifts that often follow once the medical focus has moved on.

Alongside this, I work with burnout, grief, stress, anxiety and the kinds of emotional overwhelm that can build over time. Many neurodivergent clients, including autistic people and people with ADHD, come to therapy exhausted from years of masking or from being told they are too much or not enough. I also support people experiencing social anxiety, low self-esteem and the strain that comes from high-pressure environments or from constantly having to hold things together.

I also offer couples counselling. You may be facing a particular difficulty, struggling with repeated patterns or finding that you no longer feel heard by one another. Therapy offers a place to slow things down and begin understanding what is happening between you.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent 25 years in investment banking and media. I understand the pressures of demanding environments and what it can cost to keep performing when something underneath is running out.

My work is trauma-informed, so feeling safe, having choice and going at a pace that feels manageable matter to how we work together. Some sessions are about talking through what has changed. Others are about sitting with something that hasn't had space before, at whatever pace that takes. If words are hard to find, I also use sand tray and other creative approaches to explore what is difficult to say directly.

Where and when I offer sessions

I’m based in Richmond and East Sheen, offering sessions in person, online and by telephone, evenings and Saturday mornings, including walk and talk therapy. I support clients across South West London, including Fulham, Putney, Chiswick and Twickenham.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. You can tell me a little about what is bringing you to counselling, ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

My experience includes helping clients navigate a wide range of challenges, including:

Major Life Transitions - moments of change such as career shifts, separation and divorce, menopause, relocation, retirement, or becoming a carer. I also support people navigating family issues, relationship difficulties, loneliness, and those times when life simply doesn't feel quite right, even when it's hard to explain why.

Specialised Health Support - living with chronic illness, managing cancer or other health journeys, or adapting to life with disability, where emotional and practical support is needed.

Low Mood & Anxiety - depression, social anxiety, burnout, or stress from high-pressure environments, including the impact of persistent self-criticism, overthinking, or inner tension.

Healing from Trauma, Harm, and Loss -  bereavement, miscarriage, loneliness, and the ongoing effects of abuse or bullying, as well as experiences that may feel too difficult to talk about elsewhere.

Culture, Identity, and Social Dynamics -  exploring how culture, identity, and social factors shape experiences, including differences in religion, changing beliefs, family expectations, and other relational or societal influences.

I bring a humanistic approach to therapy, helping clients explore their experiences and the ways challenging moments can shape our patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. I work collaboratively, listening closely to what truly matters to you and using approaches that fit your needs and way of being.

Together, we can make sense of what you’re facing, recognise what may be getting in the way, and uncover ways of moving forward that feels meaningful, manageable, and true to who you are.
