Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP) | Online | Walk & Talk

About me

I offer a warm, down-to-earth counselling space where you can explore what's really going on beneath the surface. My approach is collaborative and conversational. I won't sit silently and simply nod, nor will I tell you what to do. Instead, we'll work together to understand the patterns, beliefs, emotions and experiences that may be keeping you stuck.

I am particularly interested in working with issues around self-worth, relationships, identity, confidence and the impact of past experiences on present difficulties.

I believe lasting change comes not from fixing what's "wrong" with you, but from developing greater awareness, self-compassion and understanding of the ways you've learned to navigate the world. My aim is to provide a supportive space where you can feel understood, challenged when appropriate, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.

I provide sessions online via Zoom or outdoors through 'walk and talk' therapy in Canterbury.

If you would like to see whether working together might be a good fit, you are welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

My profile gives a sense of what working with me might be like, but the best way to know is to have that first session together. If you’re ready to begin, you can check my availability and book your first appointment easily through my website.

The secure client portal makes scheduling simple and flexible, so you can choose a time that works for you. Our first session is a chance to explore what’s brought you to counselling, whether it’s a specific issue or a general need to talk things through.

After the session, you can take time to decide if you’d like to continue - there’s no pressure. If you choose to move forward, we’ll work together to set your goals and meet for ongoing sessions.
