About me

Looking for a safe space to talk and untangle life’s challenges? I’m a therapeutic counsellor specialising in supporting LGBT clients, though I welcome anyone seeking clarity and connection in their lives. My approach is humanistic, which means I see you as the expert on your own life and work alongside you to explore what’s holding you back and how you can move forward. Our sessions are a collaborative and down-to-earth conversation, tailored to you. We focus on what’s happening in your life right now and the deeper patterns shaping it, all in a way that feels natural and connected.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, relationship struggles, self-doubt, or a sense of being stuck, our work together is about helping you find balance and live authentically. Life doesn’t come with a manual, but therapy can help you feel more grounded, empowered, and in control.

I work online with clients across the UK, offering a flexible and convenient way to access therapy from wherever you are.

I offer in-person sessions in Ashford, Kent and I’m pleased to also offer Walk and Talk Therapy to clients living in or near Canterbury, Kent. This approach combines the benefits of traditional counselling with the healing qualities of the natural environment.

If you’re ready to take the next step, please get in touch to schedule your first session or a free 15-minute call. It’s a chance to ask any questions and see if we’re a good fit to work together. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such abide by their Ethical Framework.

I am committed to providing an anti-discriminatory service. I strive to ensure that this practice is present in all our work together.

I am trained in a variety of ‘humanistic’ counselling modalities, which encourage people to think about their feelings and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. I primarily use a combination of Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analysis.

Gestalt Therapy looks at both the individual and the wider life context. You are helped to focus on your immediate thoughts, feelings and behaviour to gain deeper awareness of how you relate to others and to situations.

Transactional Analysis can help you understand how you communicate with yourself and others, and deal with self-criticism or people-pleasing behaviours. We also look at how your beliefs and the way you interpret the world around you can create recurrent and problematic patterns of behaviour.

Additionally I am furthering my education by undertaking a masters degree in Existential Psychotherapy. This approach helps clients to make their own sense of the world, and deal with anxieties around death, freedom, responsibilities, isolation and meaninglessness.

I undertake regular CPD training (continuous professional development). This includes:

  • Working with Trauma Masterclass (Gestalt Centre)
  • Walk & Talk - Therapy in the Outdoors
  • Supporting Survivors of Sexual Violence
  • Exploring Hate Crime on LGBT+ People
  • Defining Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity Therapy
  • Exploring Gender Diversity in the Therapy Room
  • Sex and the Compulsive use of Internet Pornography
  • TA 101 (Transactional Analysis)
  • Advanced Principles of Gestalt Therapy
  • Experiments & Interventions in Gestalt Theory
  • Narcissistic Personality Disorder
  • Working with Substance use - A Psychosocial Approach

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

If you'd like, we can arrange a free 15 minute phone or video call to help you get a feel for talking with me. A good connection between client and therapist is key.

The next step is to book an initial 50-minute assessment session (charged at my usual rate). This is a chance to explore what’s brought you to counselling, whether it’s a specific issue or a general need to talk things through.

After the session, you can take time to decide if you’d like to continue—there’s no pressure. If you choose to move forward, we’ll work together to set your goals and meet weekly for ongoing sessions.

My standard fee is offered on a sliding scale of £55 to £75 per session. I invite clients to choose an amount within this range that feels manageable for them financially.

I am committed to offering up to 25% of my sessions at a significantly reduced rate or pro bono, for those facing financial hardship. These slots are currently full.

Fees are due in advance of the session via secure payment link.
