About me

Congratulations you've taken an important step by acknowledging that you may need to talk! Welcome !

Life can be challenging at times and we can find ourselves sad, lonely anxious and depressed. Specialising in Addiction, Eating Disorders(including Binge Eating Disorder), Body Dysmorphia, Co-Dependency, Sex and Love Addiction, relationship issues, low self esteem, Depression and Anxiety,  I am here to help. Having personal experience in most of these areas I understand the compulsive/obsessive behaviours and the destructive life patterns formed. Psychotherapy can help to understand and work through possible trauma and in turn break destructive cycles.  It gives you a safe place to explore the origins of these behaviours and can also you security in your ability to break them.

Our time together in therapy will include examination of all life stages and the influence they may have had on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. By looking at these stages it offers the opportunity to accept ourselves,  people, places and things and to develop a new life strategy, offering us freedom from the bondage of self and the freedom to choose a better life. I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person centred approaches and Psychodynamic therapy.

In addition to sole 1-1 therapy, i offer animal assisted (feline) therapy at my Watford location.  Cats are proven to lower depression and anxiety as well as benefit a whole host of medical issues.  Having a cat in the therapy session can be extremely revealing when examining the interaction between you and the cat as well as having a calming and comforting effect.

I also offer online therapy for those who need to work in this way,

I am also offering a working knowledge of a new self help model I have created in my new book, " S.T.A.R.S - Setting Time Aside of Renewal of Self", which is presently available on Amazon. This book is written for those seeking change in their lives and the model encourages the growth of self esteem, change and empowerment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
