About me
PLEASE NOTE - I am full, but if you like the sound of how I work, I have a team of therapists who I can connect you to.
People come to counselling for many reasons; some find this process daunting and others know what it is that they want to share. I work with a variety of presenting issues but we can also work together if you aren't sure what your problems are.
I am an experienced & Accredited Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor, with clinics in the Yeovil/Sherborne and Poundbury/Dorchester area. I offer a flexible appointment system across the day. However, I cannot offer sessions on weekends due to delivering training.
FRESH THOUGHTS COUNSELLING is my business, I have connected with a team of qualified & experienced therapists who are keen to help when my availability is limited.
Please specify your preferred location for therapy.
I offer therapy aimed at your own personal needs in a confidential and safe environment, where we can work together in a non-judgemental and respectful way allowing you the time needed for you to explore your own emotions and thoughts.
I work with the purpose of "working with the whole person". Therefore, I offer what is wanted, relevant and mutually agreed with you.
I work with adults, children and young people. I have a vast amount of experience of working with staff from the Ambulance, Police & Fire Services, War Veterans and people with learning difficulties. Some of the areas I work with are: PTSD, trauma, anxiety, general anxiety disorder, depression, post natal depression, eating disorders, feeling sad, relationship issues, bipolar, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), family issues and bereavement.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
