About me

Hello, my name is Nadine, and welcome to my profile. If you are reading this, then I imagine that you are seeking support for either yourself or someone close to you. Often, that decision to seek help can be the hardest part of the process.

I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural and Group work Therapist registered with BABCP and abiding by their code of ethics.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) works with our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations (you know when your tummy drops or the hairs on the back of your neck stand up), behavior, and the relationship between all of those elements. We will look together at what the difficulties are you are experiencing, the changes that can be made, how we go about that, and what difference that will make.

I have been in the chair of the client in the past, and I have experienced both the struggle before therapy and the difference that good therapy can make. I think this makes me better at my job.

My practice is based in Shipley, and I work in person and online. I have my own office on Shipley Wharfe, overlooking the canal.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a SOCTAS Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Group Therapy. I am a fully accredited member of the BABCP. I am also trained in EMDR, and I am a member of EMDR UK. I regularly undergo Continuous Professional Development training to ensure I am up to date.

Recently I have been working within the Increasing Access To Psychology Therapies programme (NHS project)in various areas in the North of England, delivering condition-specific CBT.

Before returning to England, I was a self-employed therapist in Glasgow, delivering contracts and individual private CBT therapy. I have a background working with those dealing with cancer and their families, this includes running and facilitating support groups and working one-to-one with those struggling to come to terms with a diagnosis.

I enjoy specialising in self-esteem issues and those that have experienced trauma.

Further information

I know that reaching out for therapy isn’t always easy, and it can feel like a big step. My aim is to make that first step feel as comfortable as possible by offering a warm, friendly and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself. I believe that everyone has their own story, and I’m passionate about helping people make sense of what’s happened to them, understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and find a way forward that feels right for them.

I work collaboratively, at your pace, because I know there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I use evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), tailoring sessions to your individual needs and goals. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, low self-esteem or simply feeling overwhelmed, I’ll support you with warmth, honesty and practical strategies to help you feel more like yourself again. My hope is that you’ll leave therapy feeling understood, empowered and equipped with the confidence and tools to move forward long after our work together has ended.

I am based in a former Wharf Building in Shipley. It provides a calm, relaxed, and safe space to explore issues in.
