About me

Counselling for High-Achievers Healing Childhood Trauma & Family Patterns

You may look capable, successful and as though you are coping well on the outside, yet it doesn't feel like that on the inside. You often feel anxious, overwhelmed, unconfident or burdened by patterns that keep repeating in relationships, work or family life.

Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, high-achieving sensitive adults who have carried the impact of difficult childhood experiences, emotionally complex family dynamics, high expectations, or years of putting others first.

Sometimes the struggles we face in adulthood are rooted in earlier experiences.

You may notice this as:

  • people-pleasing or difficulty saying no
  • anxiety, depression or overthinking
  • perfectionism and harsh self-criticism
  • feeling responsible for everyone else
  • low self-confidence despite high achievements
  • repeating unhealthy relationship patterns
  • guilt, shame or difficulty with boundaries
  • emotional exhaustion or burnout

Therapy offers a space to understand where these patterns began, how they continue today, and how change becomes possible.

I offer warm, thoughtful and insight-oriented therapy for adults who want more than short-term coping strategies. Together we can explore your past, make sense of your present, and help you move forward with greater confidence, clarity and authenticity.

My practice may particularly resonate with those who are navigating identity, belonging, cultural expectations, family pressure, or the experience of living between different worlds.

As a former lawyer, I also understand the pressures of high-stress environments, achievement culture and the hidden emotional cost of always appearing to cope.

Areas I Specialise In:

  • childhood trauma
  • difficult family relationships
  • emotional neglect
  • anxiety and depression
  • perfectionism
  • burnout
  • boundaries
  • identity and belonging
  • cultural/family expectations
  • stress in professionals

How I Work

I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where we work at your pace. My approach is relational, reflective and tailored to your needs. Depending on what you’re bringing, our work may include exploring childhood experiences, attachment patterns, emotions, relationships and practical changes in the present. I use a combination of psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and person-centred counselling.

I am currently offering online therapy.

First Steps

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch for a free initial conversation. We can discuss what’s bringing you here, what you’d like support with and figure out whether we are the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a PG Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching and an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching. I am a Registered Member of the BACP. I have a specialist interest in working with people from minority ethnic backgrounds and how this impacts the way they experience the world.

I worked as a Helpline Volunteer at Cruse Bereavement Support for over 2 years and volunteered as a counsellor at a domestic abuse charity based in South London alongside my private practice.

Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working as a lawyer in high-pressure corporate environments. Alongside this, I have personal experience of navigating life as a recent immigrant.

This background allows me to understand, from the inside, the emotional impact of responsibility, performance and expectation as well as the experiences of not quite belonging, or feeling split between different worlds.

I bring this understanding into the therapy room with sensitivity and without assumptions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
