About me

I’m Michelle, a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I understand that life can often leave you feeling completely overwhelmed, anxious, or perhaps just not like yourself lately. You might feel 'stuck' in a cycle that’s hard to break, or lost under a shadow that makes it difficult to see the way forward. Whether you are struggling with a specific, heavy problem or simply feel that something isn't right, I am here to listen without judgement.
I provide a warm and deeply supportive space where we can explore these feelings together, helping you move from a place of confusion toward one of peace and renewed control. While I work with individuals of all ages, I have a particular specialism in working with adolescents, supporting young people as they navigate their unique and often turbulent challenges at this stage in their life.

How I work

At the heart of my practice is the belief that therapy is shaped around you. As a creative, humanistic integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of approaches; including Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Existential theories to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. As a trauma informed practitioner, I work with sensitivity and care, ensuring that our pace and approach feels safe, supportive and grounded in your wellbeing.

Everyone’s story is different, and so are the ways we heal. By blending different therapeutic modalities, I adapt our work together to suit your experiences, preferences, and goals. Whether you feel drawn to creative techniques, reflective talk therapy, or mindfulness-based practices, we’ll explore what feels most helpful for you. My aim is to offer a safe, understanding, and empowering environment where you can express yourself freely and move toward meaningful change.

Taking the first step

Choosing to begin therapy and finding the right therapist are important and personal decisions. To support you in this process, I offer a free 30‑minute telephone consultation. This gives you the chance to get a sense of how I work and decide whether you feel comfortable with me, while also allowing me to ensure that I’m the right person to support you.

I provide flexible session options to suit your lifestyle and needs, including online, face‑to‑face, and telephone sessions. The initial consultation helps us talk through your hopes for therapy and consider how we might work together in a way that feels supportive and effective for you.

For work with children and young people under 18, the initial consultation will include a parent or carer for part of the session. This allows me to gather any important information I may need to be aware of, while also helping the child feel comfortable and supported before we begin working together one‑to‑one.

Sessions for children and young people under 18 are in-person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
