About me
I am a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with adults online and face-to-face in South London.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, bereavement, stress, burnout, changes at work or home, or finding that familiar feelings and patterns keep returning. You may also simply want to understand yourself and your experiences more deeply.
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative and non-judgemental. I work integratively, drawing particularly on person-centred and psychodynamic thinking. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to meaningful therapeutic work. When there is enough trust and safety, it can become possible to get closer to our experience, recognise patterns more clearly and understand ourselves in ways that feel different from simply thinking things through alone.
Some people come with something specific they want to work through; others prefer a more open-ended approach. Both are welcome.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Westminster and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My training was integrative, drawing particularly on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside substantial supervised clinical practice.
My clinical experience includes working within NHS Talking Therapies and longer-term counselling placements, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and significant life changes.
Alongside my clinical training, I spent many years working in professional and educational settings. This has given me a particular understanding of the pressures of work, responsibility, performance, stress and burnout, and the ways these can affect our relationships and sense of self.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
