About me
I am an Integrative Therapist and the foundations of my practice are Person-Centred - I will encourage you to bring any concerns to the session and the direction we take, will be lead by you. I want to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where, in time, I hope you will feel able to express your feelings, thoughts and your reasons for seeking therapy, without fear of judgement.
I appreciate that traditional 'room based talking therapy' does not work for everyone. With this in mind I am also able to offer Equine Assisted, Animal Assisted or Walk and Talk Therapy.
My (and my animals!) role is to provide you with empathy, acceptance and a genuine and authentic relationship. My hope is that you are able to develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-esteem. This can lead to positive changes in your behaviour, relationships, and overall well-being.
I work with a range of issues such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder) ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders), Trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Bereavement, Health related issues, anxiety, depression, abuse, addictions, anger, child related issues, relationships, and personal growth.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a therapist I have worked in numerous settings including the NHS (Drug & Alcohol Team), Equine Assisted Therapy Practice, Private Practice, Sheltered Accommodation for Vulnerable Adults and more recently in an Alternative Education Provision working with neurodiverse young people and those who have experienced developmental trauma. I have a particular passion for supporting the parents and carers of children/young people who have experienced trauma and 'Trauma Informed Principles' underpin my whole practice.
My qualifications to date include:
- Certificate in Counselling
- Diploma in Person Centred Counselling
- First Class BA Hons in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
- Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Association (EAGALA) Part 1 and 2 Training
- Athena Herd Level 2 Certificate in Equine Facilitated Learning
- Diploma in Animal Assisted Interventions
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a 30 minute initial assessment for therapy at a cost of £30 where we can explore what you are hoping to gain out of counselling and whether we feel comfortable working together. The number of sessions people require can vary greatly - I am able to offer short-term and long-term therapy. My sessions are 50 minutes and start at £60. Equine Therapy is £100. If it would be beneficial to attend a session/sessions with a family member/significant other then this can be accommodated but will incur an extra cost.
