Hello and welcome, I’m Marie - I am an experienced Person centred BACP Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner. I bring together a wide range of therapeutic tools to support clients through anxiety, stress, burnout, bereavement, low self-worth, trauma and life’s many challenges.
I offer a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space, whether you're feeling emotionally exhausted, going through a loss, struggling at work or simply want to feel more like yourself again. We’ll work at your pace - short-term, long-term, or for an agreed time and the approach we use will be tailored to your needs.

Whether you are suffering from anxiety, low self-esteem, overwhelm, ADHD, emotional distress, stress, abuse, self-harm, depression to relationship problems. I believe in offering an accepting, warm, understanding and non-judgemental listening environment in which clients can explore whatever is concerning them most, I want my clients to have the most positive and successful experience that they can, in order to fulfil their true potential.
My background
Before training in therapy, I spent many years in senior corporate roles, including as a Finance Director. I understand how relentless life can be , especially when you're balancing external pressure with inner struggles. This perspective helps me support professionals facing burnout, overwhelm and work-related stress.
I’ve also worked with a number of well-known organisations including Cruse Bereavement, Rape Crisis, and Time to Talk, and I offer supervision for counsellors and other professionals. I run bereavement groups, teach on NLP and coaching, and hold extensive training in areas like trauma, abuse, suicide prevention, self-harm and mindfulness.
Sessions
I offer in-person therapy in Rickmansworth (with good parking and train links), as well as online and telephone sessions. I also provide a free 30-minute consultation, so you can ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.

Location/Private practice
My private practice provides a safe and confidential space for us to work together. I also work online, telephone & zoom. My counselling practice is within easy reach of Rickmansworth station, and the M25. It is on the Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire border (Northwood, Watford, Little Chalfont, Amersham, Chorleywood, Denham, Uxbridge are all close by. There is adequate parking and if commuting by train it is a ten to fifteen - minute walk from the metropolitan line station.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) whose ethical framework I abide by. I also offer Person Centred Supervision to groups and individuals. I run Bereavement Groups and courses on Bereavement/NLP/ Coaching etc.

I draw on my training in Person-Centred Counselling, NLP, Hypnotherapy and Coaching, tailoring each session to your individual needs. I offer an integrative and flexible approach - whether you're looking for gentle exploration, practical tools, or deep therapeutic work.
I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced DBS to work with adults, children and young people. I also take ongoing supervision and regularly attend professional development training to ensure safe, ethical and high-quality practice.
As a BACP Accredited Counsellor, Senior Accredited Member of the ACCPH, and Senior Member of the GHR, I follow rigorous ethical standards and bring many years of experience into every session.
Alongside my private work, I support clients through Cruse Bereavement, where I facilitate individual sessions, closed groups, and group supervision, including monthly drop-in groups.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I am a recognised service provider with a number of the main private healthcare companies.
£60 per hour for individuals, £80 for couples for an hour and a quarter. Supervision sessions of 1.5 hours in line with BACP requirements are charged at £75.
