About me

Hi :-) I am Mamie, a fully qualified trauma informed counsellor with over 5 years experience in personal development and healing work. I am passionate about supporting people make long-lasting and adaptable change in the way they feel about themselves and their lives. Your confidence is yours and yours alone, no one can take that away from you. In my practice I combine Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Beliefs interventions. So the impact on present moment can be an important part of our sessions. I believe that change happens NOW! not later, nor in the past.

Our work will focus on exploring and eliminating current stressors, this may at times lead to exploring past hurts & future dreams, if you choose to go there. You set the pace and I will listen and I will be compassionate. I will provide a nonjudgmental and motivational space, for you to just 'be yourself' and begin to make the changes you deserve! I know that you have an innate ability to overcome life's challenges. Things may not go back to the way they used to be, but they can evolve in ways that can be even better.

Training, qualifications & experience

Fully qualified with a Dip. Intergrative Therapeutic Counselling, 2 yrs Trauma Informed Counselling experience, over 5 yeas Solutions focused coaching, mediation and reiki experience.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
