About me
Hello, I'm Lynn.
I'm an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, BACP Registered, with over 20 years of experience working across different areas of mental health.
I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be yourself. The relationship we build together is an important part of this: having the opportunity to talk openly, feel heard and explore difficult experiences without judgement can help you begin to understand yourself in new ways.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs, experiences and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I don't believe you should have to fit into a particular model. Instead, we can work collaboratively to find an approach that feels helpful and meaningful to you.
Our sessions offer space to slow down and explore what's happening in your life, including feelings or experiences that may be difficult to put into words. We might look at patterns in your relationships, how past experiences influence the present, or the ways you've learned to cope with life's challenges. We can also make space for what's happening right now and what you might need to feel more connected to yourself.
My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. I aim to work alongside you, respecting your individual experiences, identity and pace. You remain at the centre of our work, and together we can explore what feels important to you.
Your story matters, and you don't have to make sense of it all alone.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients and neurodivergent people, including those exploring their experiences of ADHD and autism. I also recognise the particular emotional challenges that can accompany parenthood, long-term health conditions, loss and significant life transitions.
You are welcome exactly as you are. If you feel we might work well together, I invite you to book a free 20-minute introductory call so we can explore whether therapy feels like the right next step for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 20 years of experience working across different areas of mental health and support services.
My professional journey began in private care homes, where I spent two years working as a Senior Support Manager, before joining the NHS in 2008. I initially worked within inpatient services supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenged, before moving into community mental health services.
Following a period away after the birth of my first child, I returned to mental health work within adult secondary care and subsequently moved into primary care, where I continue to work.
My experience across a range of services has given me a broad understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges people can experience at different stages of life.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
