About me

What specifically can I help with?

Hopefully many things, but the areas I specialise in are:

  • burnout and career issues
  • anxiety
  • navigating leadership and change
  • finding meaning and direction
  • ageing, end of life and the loss of partners, friends and family
  • succession and complex family dynamics
  • stepping down from high-powered positions
  • loneliness
  • depression
  • grief, loss and separation
  • trauma
  • psychoanalytic therapies
  • humanistic therapies
  • ecotherapy

How can I help more broadly?

I am here to help you make the changes that you need and/or discuss complex and challenging situations in depth.

This is not a quick fix provided by AI nor a medication to treat symptoms. We will look in depth at how you can make peace and hopefully lasting, positive change that addresses the roots of your challenges.  Firstly, I provide the space, time and dedication to reflect deeply on where the difficulties lie. The next step is to discover what can be done. What can change and how? We will look at what can assist you and how you might implement lasting, positive change.

What is a session like?

I can visit you at home, speak to you on the phone or online. I also offer sessions in central Bath.  It is important you feel relaxed, comfortable and fully heard.  Therapy involves talking about what matters most to you. We will do whatever helps this process, within reason.

Your dreams, memories, aspirations, achievements and regrets will inform the work. I am interested in your unconscious process, patterns, archetypes, philosophy and methods of managing change.  Absolute discretion is given.

Why do therapy?

It helps to talk to someone who is one step removed from your life. Many people who undertake therapy say that taking the time to look in depth at your life and finding ways to meet its challenges is a great investment.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
