About me

There are times where we feel overwhelmed by life, burdened by grief, fear, hopelessness, or the pain of past experiences. I’m here to sit with you in whatever challenges you are experiencing so that you have an empathic companion to walk beside you through them.

I’ve worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds facing issues such as trauma, bereavement, anxiety, feeling lost or stuck, depression, loneliness, systemic injustice, a search for meaning, and challenges in relationships with others. This has included working with older clients experiencing life shifts like retirement, separation, spousal and/or parental bereavement, health issues, and kids growing up and moving away.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am BACP registered with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Minster Centre in London, one of the leading counselling training institutions in Europe. I am also currently working towards my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at The Minster Centre.

I am a volunteer counsellor at Mind, a leading national mental health charity, and previously volunteered at Camden Council Parent’s and Carer’s Counselling Service. Before training as a therapist, I worked in social justice charities, including in youth, LGBTQI+, workers' rights and environmental sectors. This commitment to social justice remains integral to my work and feeds into my LGBTQI+ and neuroaffirmative approach.

I am an integrative therapist, which means I use various therapeutic approaches, combining them in a way that works for you.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is the heart of therapy. It is in this non-judgemental, warm and containing space that it becomes safer to explore, examine and discover the parts of your experience that are bringing you pain and seek to be with, process and re-organise them.

Working psychodynamically, we might look at how your past is impacting your present - often unconsciously - making you feel stuck repeating patterns that make you unhappy.

Working existentially, we might explore your worldview, the unique way you see and experience life, and how you might authentically meet its challenges - those that are within and beyond our control.

I might also bring in body psychotherapeutic approaches - supporting you to build a relationship with your body that allows it to become an ally in healing. What is held by your body? What has your body forgotten how to express? How are your thoughts and feelings impacted by your physical sensations?

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My counselling room is at E2 Therapy Rooms in Bethnal Green. The space is on the ground floor, wheelchair-accessible, and is quiet and bright.
