About me

Hi I'm Louise, welcome to my page.

I practice as an integrative counsellor, offering counselling and psychotherapy both in person and online for adults (17+) in Dartford and the surrounding area.

I am here to listen to you, with no judgement. Whatever difficulties you're experiencing, we can together create a safe place and work through at your own pace with whatever you wish to bring.

Sometimes in life we all may find ourselves needing help or someone to talk to. It could be that you're struggling with something from your past; or finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day, or uncertain about the future? Whatever it is, having someone to talk to who is separate from your friends and/or family can be just what is needed. This is where therapy can help.

I have trained in a number of modalities including person centred, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive, allowing me to adapt to each client's needs.

I like to work creatively with clients but this is client led. This may include working with buttons, art, breathwork and guided meditation. These different modalities will blend together to assist in your therapy journey.

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation for all prospective clients and am pleased to offer a blue light discount.

What to expect during your 20 minute consultation appointment:

- An opportunity to chat about how we'll work together

- Discuss what you'd like to talk about in therapy

- Discuss what you'd like your therapy outcome to be

My professional experience includes seeing staff working within an NHS setting and in a community based charity, where I have worked with a variety of clients experiencing a bereavement, trauma (including those who've been affected by suicide, self-harm, sexual abuse) and other big life changes. I have also supported parents and families of disabled children.

My role is not to provide you with all the answers, but instead to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk and feel supported, enabling you to face challenges and feel a greater sense of well being, purpose and value.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
