About me
Hello, I'm Louise, Integrative Counsellor/Therapist MBACP (level 6 - NHS accredited) based in Dartford.
Do you find yourself lying in bed awake at night worrying, re-running conversations you've had that day?
Have you found yourself cancelling or turning down plans with friends as you'd rather be at home, but find that doesn't ease your anxiety or mood?
Are things becoming overwhelming and you just don't know where to start? Always feeling tired and never seem to have enough time for you or loved ones?
Sometimes in life we all may find ourselves needing help or someone to talk to.
It could be that you're struggling with something from your past; or finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day, or uncertain about the future?
Whatever it is, having someone to talk to who is separate from your friends and/or family can be just what is needed. This is where therapy can help. I believe everyone could benefit from having an hour a week dedicated just for them.
I offer face to face appointments in my garden therapy room in Dartford and online/telephone appointments for clients based elsewhere.
I am fully insured, enhanced DBS check, ISO registered.
As an Integrative therapist, I have trained in a number of modalities including person centred, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive, allowing me to adapt to each client's needs.
I offer clients the opportunity to work creatively, for example this may include working with buttons and drawing. Working in this way can be very helpful, especially if you sometimes find it hard to put your feelings into words. It can also put some people at ease and help reduce tension as well as connecting with your subconscious.
My practice also focuses on the mind and body connection, stress and tension and how they affect our bodies, for example stress headaches, aching muscles, exhaustion.
These different modalities will blend together to assist in your therapy journey.
My professional experience includes seeing NHS staff (medical and support) working within a hospital and am pleased to offer any blue light card holders a discount.
I work one day a week for a community based charity in Bexley, where I have worked with a variety of clients experiencing a bereavement, trauma (including those who've been affected by suicide, self-harm, sexual abuse), EUPD, BPD, anxiety and depression.
My other professional experience, which spans over 20 years includes working with families of disabled children, unpaid carers, wellbeing befriending and further education students support.
I aim to respond to all enquiries within 72 hours.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
