About me

I am an experienced and accredited psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner. I offer in-person therapy in Essex and online therapy for people all over the UK and the world. I provide friendly, empathic, and non-judgmental care.

I specialize in many areas of psychotherapeutic treatment, including trauma, relationship problems, phobias, and addictions. I also help people who are suffering from feelings of anger, anxiety, depression, and stress. Therapy can also help with confidence, communication, assertiveness, and anger problems, and can help you to look at things from other perspectives.

My therapy journey with you can help you to better understand, manage, and cope with your feelings, and to gain a better understanding of yourself.

Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. It shows that you are ready for change. I am here for you to listen and to help you find the answers. The hardest part is often making that first phone call, but once you have done that, it shows that your inner strength is helping you through.

I help people of all ages and tailor my sessions accordingly. This is because young children, adolescents, and adults require different approaches and adaptations according to their needs.

I am a fully insured and accredited EMDR Practitioner, as well as an accredited member of The National Counselling Society. I am registered with the BACP and hold a certificate of proficiency. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate for working with children as well as an Approved Adoption Counsellor by Barnardo's LINK.

Here is what happens during therapy:

First, we will arrange an assessment appointment, either by email, text, or telephone, whichever is most convenient for you. In your enquiry you will provide me with a brief paragraph letting me know what you would like help with.

At the assessment, I will find out a little more about you, your history, medication, and health issues, and then discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. I will also discuss your expectations, goals, and where you would like to be in your life in the future. In this meeting, we will both be able to decide whether we feel comfortable working with each other. I will explain how I work and which type of therapy would help you most in your current situation.
Throughout the sessions, we will work towards the root cause of your issues, confront them, and move forward into a new, more satisfying lifestyle, whilst offering a safe environment for you to explore the issues that are affecting your life.

Here are some of the therapy approaches I use:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that is used to treat trauma and other mental health conditions. EMDR works by helping the person to process the traumatic event in a safe and controlled environment. This is done by using a variety of techniques, including eye movements, taps, or tones

We will look at your history, develop resources which will help you both during, in between and after therapy. These will be valuable tools which will help you to calm and regulate your nervous system.

Mindfulness and Meditation is encouraged as well as exercise and healthy eating.
Once everything is in place we will look at what is troubling you now and connect to your negative beliefs and emotions that you may have about yourself.

We will then trace them back to when you first started to have this belief. This will then be processed using bilateral stimulation or Eye Movements.
Once processed a positive cognition will be installed. This will help you to feel better about yourself and help you cope and look at your future in a different way.

The whole process of EMDR therapy will help to change your thought process. It will help you to understand yourself more, be kinder to yourself and value yourself.

In turn this will help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression which if not treated can have an immense affect on your physical body.

Intensive EMDR Therapy is a type of EMDR therapy that is done over a shorter period of time, typically 3-5 days. This type of therapy is often used for people who have severe trauma or who are not able to make progress with traditional EMDR therapy.

IADC therapy, or Induced After Death Communication therapy, is a type of therapy that helps people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. It is based on the belief that death is not the end of our existence, but rather a transition to another state of being.

IADC therapy generally involves two sessions on two consecutive days. The first session focuses on reducing the sadness associated with grief by using a modified protocol of EMDR therapy. EMDR therapy is a type of therapy that helps people to process traumatic memories. In the first IADC therapy session, the therapist will help the client to identify and focus on the memories that are associated with the grief. The therapist will then use eye movements, taps, or tones to help the client to process the memories.

Once the client has processed the memories in the first session, they will be in a better state to experience the second session of IADC therapy. The second session focuses on cultivating a state of receptivity. In this state, the client is more open to receiving messages from their deceased loved one. The therapist will help the client to relax and to focus on their thoughts and feelings. The therapist may also use guided imagery to help the client to connect with their deceased loved one.

In this state of receptivity, most clients perceive a deep and loving connection with their deceased loved one. They may experience this connection through one or more of the five senses, or through some other sense-of-presence perception. For example, they may hear their loved one's voice, see their loved one's face, or feel their loved one's touch.

IADC therapy can be a powerful experience for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. It can help them to gain closure, to find comfort, and to move on with their lives. If you are interested in learning more about IADC therapy, I encourage you to do some research. There are many books and websites that can provide you with more information.

Here are some of the benefits of IADC therapy:

It can help people to gain closure and to find comfort after the loss of a loved one.
It can help people to connect with their deceased loved ones and to receive messages of love and support.
It can help people to heal from grief and trauma.
It can help people to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
If you are considering IADC therapy, it is important to remember that it is not a miracle cure. It is a process that can take time and effort. However, for many people, IADC therapy has been a valuable tool for healing and transformation.

Attachment-informed Therapy is a type of therapy that is used to help people who have attachment-related problems. Attachment theory is a theory of human development that focuses on the importance of early relationships in shaping our later relationships. Attachment-informed therapy can help people to heal from the wounds of their past and to develop healthier attachment patterns.

Change can be difficult and can bring up a whole abundance of emotions. I will be there to support you through that journey.
