About me

If you’re looking to change how you’re feeling but you’re not sure where to start then you’ve come to the right place.

I am an experienced UKCP registered counsellor and I've worked in a variety of settings. I’ve been lucky to bear witness, both personally and professionally, to the difference good counselling can make in our lives. I work collaboratively with my clients to figure out challenges and create a deeper sense of meaning and fulfilment, whilst resolving emotional difficulties.

My experience

Many of my clients have entered into counselling for support with one or more of the following:

  • dissatisfaction with life in general and wanting to improve their self esteem
  • struggling to sleep at night and going over difficult memories
  • dreading Monday morning due to pressures in the workplace
  • feeling sensitive to other people comments and responses
  • unhappy or uncertain in a current or past relationship and wanting to explore why
  • navigating the impact of existing or historic abuse
  • experiences relating to bullying, oppression and discrimination

I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress, bereavement, low self esteem and trauma.

Couples Counselling

I also provide counselling for couples to support:

  • improvements in communication
  • navigating life changes such as having a baby
  • working through a lack of trust
  • exploring your goals as a couple

This isn't limited to romantic relationships and can include those between a parent and child, siblings and friends.

How to get started

You can make a free initial appointment with me via phone or video call to enable us to decide if we would work well together. You are also very welcome to contact me if you’re curious about counselling and would like to find out more. I would be very happy to hear from you.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
