About me

People begin counselling for a variety of reasons including difficulties within relationships, mental health concerns, feeling overwhelmed, or to regain a sense of direction. Sometimes a life event has taken place and prompted a loss of stability. I provide a warm, confidential and non judgemental space for self reflection and exploration, and support my clients to build on their resilience, resources and enjoyment of life.

My Experience

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor which means I work with a variety of approaches I have found personally beneficial. I have counselled professionals in the workplace, students at college and university, survivors of different types of abuse and within a multicultural setting. I have worked with many people experiencing: difficulties regulating their emotions, insomnia, depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, bereavement, trauma related symptoms, and stress; as well as those who wish to use counselling to gain perspective on a particular area of their life.

Qualifications

My professional qualifications include a BSc and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Middlesex University and Matrix College, and UKCP registration as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I am currently completing a certificate in Psychosexual Studies with Tavistock Relationships. With regards to fees, I offer a limited number of concessions for those on a lower income or in full time education. I am a recognised counsellor with Aviva, Cigna, General & Medical, Vitality, and WPA health insurance companies.

Availability

You can make a free initial appointment with me via phone or video call to enable you to consider if we will work well together. I am available for short term counselling or on an ongoing basis, either weekly or fortnightly, based around my clients' needs and expectations.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
