About me

I offer short term or open ended counselling based around your needs and expectations. I provide an initial 30 minute consultation without charge to enable you to decide whether we will work well together and a plan for proceeding with your sessions.

I am an integrative counsellor which means I work with a number of different approaches. For me this includes humanistic and psychodynamic theories as well as neuroscience. I have a particular interest in understanding the different parts of ourselves and how these have protected and influenced us over the years.

My view is that counselling is a philosophical quest to understand how you became who you are, and it is a privilege to accompany my clients in this capacity. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression or other trauma related symptoms; or may simply be feeling stuck and have a desire to gain perspective on a specific area of your life.

I have a background in law and worked in the City for a number of years. As a counsellor I have gained experience with professionals in the workplace, students at college and university, survivors of abuse, and multiculturally. I can also provide sessions in Spanish.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
