About me
I am a qualified counsellor who currently works in person in Sittingbourne and Rainham, online via Zoom and telephone.
I believe that you are the expert of your life because only you know how it really feels to be you and that can feel like a lonely place sometimes.
I am a warm, friendly person and will work hard to create a trusting therapeutic relationship with you so that you can feel safe to share your feelings and emotions. Together we can explore what is troubling you and work together to find a way forward. I have experienced the positive, life changing affects that counselling can have on a person and strive to offer that to all my clients.
I can work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, family and romantic relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, low self esteem, confidence issues and difficult childhood experiences.
I have experience working with people who have a terminal illness and their family members and I have held a voluntary position as a counsellor for people under the care of a hospice.
I have experience supporting people living with chronic health conditions and disabilities.
I have lived experience with people who are Neurodivergent, this includes Autism, ADHD and functional Tic disorder. I also work with people who have children and family members who are Neurodivergent. I know how difficult it can be navigating life when you or a loved one thinks and feels differently from those around them.
I work with adults on an individual basis and can provide both short term and long therm therapy.
My training is in Person-centred therapy, which means that I do not offer advice or tell you what you should or should not be doing, instead I help you to explore what is going on for you that has lead you to seek help. Together we can look at your thoughts and feelings and explore what the problems are and how we can move forward. The counselling relationship is unique, as the focus is on you and your life. You decide what you want to talk about and you decide how you want to go about resolving the issues you have. It is your safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to concentrate on you and you alone.
I offer a free 20 minute telephone or online session so that you can discuss what your needs are and we can then explore if that is something I can help with. When looking for a counsellor it is so important that you feel comfortable and understand how that counsellor works. This free short session will not only allow you to see if you think I am someone you can work with, but also to ask any questions you may have.
If after the free session, and after you have had time to think about it, you feel you would like to work with me, we can then arrange your first session. In that first session I will take a few basic details and then we can make a plan for our work together. I can offer weekly or fortnightly sessions and this can be changed as needed. PLEASE NOTE: I aim to respond to enquiries within 48 hours but email responses often end up in Junk/Spam folders so please check.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
