About me

Why choose me??

If you are reading this you are probably scrolling through a long list of therapists not knowing which one to pick! Let me try and make it easier for you!

Therapists work differently, this depends on the modality they have been trained in and also the client. This could be different when working with children.  I am a fully qualified and insured psychotherapist and a member of the BACP. I  use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT and DBT. I work with a tailored approach that will meet my clients individual needs,  thus meaning that rooted in my belief is that everybody has the capacity for self growth. My goal is to empower my clients to build resilience, develop coping skills and achieve their personal and emotional wellbeing. I am dedicated to my work and have a passion to work collaboratively with my clients to get them to a place they desire to be.

I offer coaching to my clients; my aim is to empower them and get them through 'tough times' I will teach my clients coping skills to be able to do so. My mission in life is to be able to support people to live life, not survive.

Next steps -

Choosing the right therapist for you is crucial. It is important to take the time to ensure you have chosen the right therapist to begin your journey. If you would like to arrange a free introductory call just get in touch. We can then agree on a suitable time for us to speak. During this call we can discuss what has bought you to therapy and the things you are wanting to work on. I will then explain how I work and from there we can decide weather I am the right therapist for you. If so we will then set up our first session. You can email direct on lisadufftherapy@gmail.com or call me on 07742093320. If I am unable to answer then leave a voicemail with a clear telephone number and I  will respond within 24 hours.

Note - Confidentiality and your privacy are paramount. All sessions are conducted in a secure and private setting, adhering to the highest standards of professional ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
