About me
Welcome, and thank you for choosing to find out more about the counselling service I offer.
I deeply respect the courage it takes to seek support and engage in the counselling process, which is why, as a counsellor, my warm approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a respect for each individual’s unique experiences. I put you first and at the centre of all the therapeutic work we do together, and I believe that the counselling journey is a partnership between us both, where my role is to provide you and your unique journey with a safe, supportive, confidential, and judgement-free space for gentle exploration, healing, and growth.
I recognise it can be difficult to know where to begin. Some clients may come to me with a clear sense of what they want to work on, whilst others may feel unsure and simply know they need a space to talk. Every client has their own expectations of what counselling looks like for them; all approaches are welcome, and I’m able to meet you wherever you are on your journey.
At the heart of my counselling practice is a profound belief in human connection, resilience, and our ability to change. As you can see, my therapeutic approach isn’t about offering a one-size-fits-all solution but about tailoring the counselling experience to meet your specific needs, preferences, and circumstances.
Creating a Safe and Supportive Space
As a member of the BACP, I work ethically and safely within the BACP Ethical Framework, holding full practice insurance and a full DBS. I prioritise creating a comfortable environment where you feel safe, listened to, and understood. This means fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and empathy, completely judgement free and with no pressure to “fix” anything. Instead, I’m able to listen to your experience with empathy from your perspective, and work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a qualified person-centred counsellor and member of the BACP, I have a diploma in humanistic therapeutic counselling and work harmoniously across both private practice and agencies. My experience as a counsellor includes working with local agencies such as Place2Be, Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid, and CASY with children, teens, young people, and adults.
I have experience in working with neurodivergence such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, whether previously diagnosed or considering diagnosis. I support neurodivergent or questioning neurodivergent clients of all ages and for all reasons for coming to counselling.
There are many reasons clients come to counselling, and I work alongside clients wishing to work on various issues that are impacting their everyday life and well-being, such as low mood, low self-esteem, fatigue, work-related stress, anger, frustration, sleep issues, overwhelm, sadness, health worries, loss, grief, panic, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, postpartum depression, childhood trauma, separation, relationship difficulties, life transitions and confidence; see full list below.
The professional development I continually undertake is a comprehensive list that serves directly in my client work, which is why CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is important to my practice. As well as being a qualified counsellor, additional areas of study and qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Diploma
- Mindfulness Teacher Diploma
- MBSR
- Trauma & PTSD
- Safeguarding Children & Adults
- Neuroscience & Self-Regulation
- Neurodivergence, including ADHD & ASD

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I set up Cedars Counselling, Therapy & Wellbeing to provide a holistic service to all of my clients where they feel safe, listened to and supported.
Cedar’s is a space where clients can be their authentic self and be greeted for exactly who they are with the kindness, compassion and empathy they truly deserve. I have experienced Counselling myself and know implicitly how difficult it can be to reach out for help and to know where to look for a safe confidential space you can trust. Cedar’s is that space.
Whether it’s offloading daily pressures, a specific problem a client would like support with or learning to find life balance, this environment is created for clients to feel comfortable and content in leaning towards whatever goals they have for their future self. To explore, to discover, to achieve, to heal, to change, to grow but more importantly, to just be.
Set in acres of beautiful Woodland, the room is warm, confidential and easy to access with free parking to the rear. To find out more information and to get started, contact me on the details provided to arrange a free initial 30 minute no obligation introductory session.
