About me

Hello and welcome! I'm Leanne Banks, a humanistic integrative psychotherapist and counsellor based in Nottingham, UK. I offer both face-to-face and online counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. Many people experience moments of feeling stuck and find it challenging to move forward. My holistic approach nurtures all aspects of well-being - mind, body, and spirit, providing a compassionate, non-judgemental space for exploration, healing, and growth.

With a first-class degree in humanistic integrative psychotherapy as my foundation, I offer support to individuals navigating life’s challenges, building self-awareness, and fostering resilience. Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, self-worth, relationships, or life transitions, I’m here to help you find clarity and confidence.

For couples, I focus on strengthening communication, deepening understanding, and fostering connection. With a Level 7 Diploma in Couples Counselling and extensive experience working with diverse relationship dynamics, I provide a safe space to navigate challenges together. Whether you're facing conflict, rebuilding trust, or seeking to enhance your relationship, I offer tailored support to help you grow and reconnect.

I believe you are the expert in your own life and relationships, and my role is to support you in finding your path forward with empathy and understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a first-class BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Staffordshire University, completed through four years of training at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, along with a Level 7 diploma in Couples Humanistic Integrative Therapy. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS) Acc., I adhere to their ethical guidelines. I work directly with a variety of clients, building a strong foundation of experience to provide effective, compassionate support. I am committed to continuous professional development to effectively meet diverse client needs.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
