About me

I'm Lauren, a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years in Psychology. I work with adults from the of 16 with a range of mental health problems and levels of complexity. I am registered with the HCPC and provide evidence-based assessment and therapy. I am trained in several types of therapy including CBT, ACT, CAT and DBT amongst others, and I integrate these to create a tailored treatment to your needs. I have a warm interpersonal style and enjoy creating a safe space for exploring challenges and working together to create change.

Throughout my career in the NHS, I have worked with people with a range of difficulties and ages including people with brain injuries, neurological conditions and learning disabilities. I currently work in the NHS as a specialist Clinical Psychologist with people over 65 including those with and without dementia or complex physical health problems alongside mental health problems.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, OCD, bereavement and people coming to terms with the changes associated with long-term conditions. I also work with people who have been in, or are currently in, abusive relationships. My areas of interest include men's mental health (my thesis was about how women support their male partners to access mental health services) and working with women using a feminist, reflective approach. I am particularly passionate about supporting those who have health problems, anxiety, health anxiety and complex trauma or attachment difficulties in their background. I also work with a number of people who have "high functioning anxiety", burnout and work stress.

I enjoy working with both individuals and couples to support recovery from mental health problems.
