About me

I specialise in supporting people navigating challenges in their relationships, with particular expertise in working with the Gender, Sex, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) community. I am kink-aware and sex worker allied. I am especially passionate about supporting those practising or considering Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM), as I understand the unique complexities and opportunities that arise when building relationships between two or more people. Cultivating the self-awareness required to be an open, supportive partner while maintaining healthy boundaries can be challenging, and I am here to help you explore and strengthen these skills.

My experience includes working with clients living or considering an ENM lifestyle across diverse cultural backgrounds, life stages, and identities. As a therapist, I approach each relationship dynamic with curiosity, recognising that it is not always the relationship structure itself that presents challenges. My focus is on understanding the specific nuances of your situation and helping you gain clarity around your own contributions to the relationship, while also supporting you in defining and advocating for your personal needs and boundaries.

In my work, I have found that interpersonal relationship issues often intersect with deeper themes, such as patterns of relating formed in childhood, feelings of anxiety or overwhelm, identity exploration, or a sense of being stuck. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore these interconnected areas together and work toward positive change.

While I bring experience to this field, my priority is to support you in a way that feels comfortable, collaborative, and empowering. I deeply respect the uniqueness of every individual and their experiences. Rather than making assumptions, I focus on listening to you, uncovering patterns, developing insights, and creating strategies that promote healing, growth, and connection. My goal is to foster a warm, compassionate environment where you feel truly heard and understood.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work in an integrative way, drawing from many evidence-based models of psychology and healing, tailoring your sessions to you by getting to know your comfort zones and your growing edges.

I initially trained in the Psychosynthesis model. If your first reaction is 'what is that?' I've added an introduction on the Reading Materials tab on my website, but briefly, it means I work holistically, acknowledging the interconnectedness of Mind, Body, and Feelings and the impact they can have on one another. We will work with material of the past and childhood, but most of our focus will be on the now, what's happening and what's holding you back, and the material of the future, where you want to be and how to achieve your potential. Understanding childhood experiences can help you have compassion for yourself, allow you to notice and let go of old habits, but we will always come back to how you are in the here and now and where you want to be heading as an individual, in relationships, and in any area that is important to you.

I also work with tools from modalities such as Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Family Constellations, Brief Therapy, Focusing, and Mindfulness-based strategies, drawing on these where appropriate in service of your self-exploration.

For couples+, I welcome relationships of more than 2. I have training in the Developmental Model, Imago Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Non-Violent Communication.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Initial Consultation

I offer a free 15-minute phone call so we can get a feel for each other and see if we’d like to progress to an initial session.

I am aware that with some anxieties, neurodiversities, and disabilities, sometimes even picking up the phone can be a barrier. If this is the case, you can email me with your reasons for seeking therapy, and we can take it from there.

First Session

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss in more depth your reason for seeking therapy, your hopes and fears for the process, as well as any unanswered questions you may have.

I have a set of questions I will use to guide our conversation, but you are very welcome to bring yours. Towards the end of the session, we can see how we both feel and make a plan for how we will progress, if that is our joint decision.

For couples+, I will share a set of questions to be completed and returned to me by each individual before the initial session. The initial session will include some discussion of my terms and conditions, which I will also share with you prior to the session.

Longer-term therapy

In the long term, therapy is a professional and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. The goal of therapy is to help you grow a deeper awareness of yourself, understand and address your personal challenges, improve your emotional well-being, and to realise your full potential. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, identity or relationship issues, trauma, or life transitions, I am here to provide support and guidance in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

During sessions, we will work collaboratively to get to know you, identify unhelpful patterns, investigate conflict, both internal and external, set goals, and develop coping skills that empower you to navigate difficulties and make positive changes in your life.

Therapy is not just for those in crisis; it can also be a tool for self-discovery, improving communication, and achieving balance. Sessions last 50 minutes and typically occur weekly, though the duration and frequency depend on your specific needs. Whether you’re seeking relief from emotional pain or simply want to better understand yourself, therapy offers a pathway to greater clarity, resilience, and personal well-being.
