About me

Being genuine matters. I present myself with authenticity, curiosity and desire to listen to what you have to say. I work closely with my clients to help build trust to ensure that we both feel comfortable and safe during our time together.

I studied for my counselling diploma at Kent Adult Education and had a wonderful journey of self discovery and self awareness. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I have studied many of the core counselling theories – Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and more. I use this wealth of knowledge to ensure each session is as unique as you are, pulling skills and interventions from a theoretical toolbox which will help us get to the root of what we are discussing in each session.

I also enjoy working creatively with my clients and have a range of props that can help us explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, when simply talking feels too overwhelming. I enjoy sand tray work, art therapy, play therapy and mind mapping to help clients on their journey.

Specialisms:

  •  Addiction - Discussing triggers and causes for substance abuse and working with clients towards rehabilitation and recovery.
  •  Depression and Anxiety - Helping clients find coping mechanisms to deal with every day life.
  •  Grief - Exploring loss in all its forms – death, illness, relationships and many more. Sitting with feelings and gently working towards coping and moving forward.
  •  Pregnancy and Birth - Supporting individuals through their pregnancy and birth journey. I have experience in loss, pregnancy related illness (such as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, PGP and more), pregnancy and birth trauma, abortion, pre and post-natal depression.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
