About me

Welcome!  Thank you for being here. I am an Integrative Counsellor with a Person Centred base. This means that I am able to put you at the centre of the therapeutic journey, whilst utilising  a range of different  therapeutic tools, from a number of  modalities. This allows us to tailor the therapeutic approach to meet your specific needs.

My special area of interest is Autism and Neurodivergence. I have lived experience of Autism, as well as lived experience of caring for an Autistic person. I work in a relaxed, relational and welcoming way, and am Neurodivergent affirming in my approach. I currently work with individuals and couples, and run a weekly support group.

At the heart of my practice, lies your empowerment and automomy.  I will provide a safe and empathetic space, where you will be not only heard, but listened to.

Within your therapeutic journey, we will put you at the centre, whilst I support and walk with you.  I am able to work creatively, using various therapeutic resources, such as art and play materials, CBT emotion cards, mindfulness techniques, nesting doll's and more. This can be a great way to express your feelings, and communicate your thoughts and emotions, for those times where words may not come easily.

Reaching out may not be an easy step to take, and navigating life's ever-changing routes  alone, can be just as tricky.  I am able to offer you a non judgemental, authentic space, where we can discuss your circumstances, aims and aspirations, meeting you wherever you are, in your life right now.

I work remotely, using online platforms, telephone; email and text based chat. If you feel that I may be the right Counsellor for you, please get in touch for an informal chat.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
