About me

Hi, I’m Kelsey!
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and more importantly, I’m a human being just like you. Life can be messy, unpredictable, and sometimes painfully complicated. Some days we cope, and some days we crumble. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of things, and rediscover a sense of calm and direction again.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because no two people are the same. You’re not a checklist or a diagnosis; you’re a whole person with unique experiences, patterns, and strengths. My approach combines various therapeutic models, including Gestalt, existential, third-wave CBT, person-centred, and relational psychodynamic, so our work is tailored to you rather than the other way around.

Therapy with me isn’t always heavy. Sometimes it’s quiet reflection, sometimes laughter, and occasionally an uncomfortable truth. It’s authentic, collaborative, and led by what you need in the moment. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, neurodivergence, or simply trying to find your footing again, I offer a warm and grounded space where you can be yourself: no pressure, no judgment, just honesty and care.

I’m also neurodivergent myself (ADHD), and that shapes how I see and understand the world, as well as how I work as a therapist. I know how it feels to have a fast brain in a slow world, to be highly sensitive or easily overwhelmed, and to carry a lifetime of being told you’re too much or not enough. That lived experience drives my passion for supporting neurodivergent clients, helping them embrace their wiring, find compassion for themselves, and build a life that works for them rather than against them.

I’m equally passionate about supporting women through life transitions, from identity shifts and hormonal changes to the emotional landscape of menopause. My current MA research explores how neurodivergent therapists experience menopause, a topic that is particularly close to my heart, both professionally and personally. I believe these intersections between mind, body, identity, and culture deserve to be explored with openness, curiosity, and compassion.

My Approach
I work relationally, which means therapy isn’t something I do to you; it’s something we do together. I show up as my real, grounded self (as much as is professionally appropriate) because I believe authenticity and trust are at the core of meaningful therapy. Clients often tell me they appreciate my warmth, consistency, and honesty, qualities that help create a space where they can show up entirely.

When the time feels right, I’ll offer gentle but honest challenges to help shift what’s no longer serving you and make room for new ways of thinking, feeling, and living that align with who you truly are.

Due to my background in psychology (I hold a master’s degree), I sometimes incorporate psychoeducation, sharing insights into why you might be experiencing specific emotional or physiological responses. Understanding yourself through a psychological lens can make self-compassion and change feel much more possible.

Some of the main approaches I draw from include:

  • Humanistic / Person-Centred Therapy
  • Relational Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Existential Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and third-wave approaches such as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT) principles, where relevant

Together, we might sit with what hurts, make sense of how the past shows up in the present, and work towards clarity, confidence, and a gentler relationship with yourself.

A Bit More About Me
I’m a registered member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of South Wales and am currently finishing my MA dissertation, which explores the lived experiences of neurodivergent therapists navigating menopause.

Alongside my private practice, I work with Omnia Health Group and HA Wisdom Wellbeing as an affiliate counsellor, and volunteer with Sesame Counselling Service in Newport, where I also serve as Charity Secretary, supporting student placements and developing community-based counselling services.

I’ve previously also supported adults and children (age 5+) through bereavement (Cruse Bereavement Support) and worked with clients at Torfaen Talks CIC. My earlier background in education and human resources provided me with valuable insights into workplace culture, burnout, and the impact of external pressures on emotional well-being.

Across all my work, one theme remains constant: helping people make peace with who they are, reconnect with what matters, and find kinder, more sustainable ways of being in the world.

If you’ve made it this far, maybe something here has resonated with you. Perhaps you’re ready to carve out some time for yourself. If so, I’d love to hear from you

Further information

As a relational, integrative therapist, I offer a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those who identify as neurodivergent. I understand how navigating the world and therapy can be shaped by gender, sexuality, and neurodivergence, and I honour the unique experiences and identities my clients bring.

My approach is grounded in respect, curiosity, and compassion. Whether you’re exploring identity, managing relationships, facing anxiety, masking, or simply seeking to be heard and understood without judgement. I aim to meet you where you are. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I bring both lived and professional insight into the ways our minds and experiences differ, and I welcome you exactly as you are.

You’re not too much, too sensitive, or too complicated here. You’re human, and your story matters.
