About me
I’m Kelly, a qualified counsellor dedicated to supporting people through life’s ups and downs. I believe each person’s journey is unique, and I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
Together, we may look at what’s happening for you in the present, as well as past experiences that could be shaping your relationships and sense of self today. Sometimes this means exploring attachment styles or those younger parts of us that still feel frightened or unheard. Using Transactional Analysis, we might also look at “ego states”, the Parent, Adult, and Child within us, to understand old patterns and create healthier ways forward.
My approach is warm and flexible, drawing on person-centred therapy, CBT, and psychodynamic techniques. Clients often find that through counselling, they gain clarity, emotional relief, and the tools to make positive changes.
Having worked through my own challenges with the support of counselling, I know how valuable it can be to have a safe space where you feel truly listened to. This personal journey has inspired me to help others find hope, healing, and the confidence to move forward.
If you’re ready to take the first step, I’ll be here to walk alongside you with understanding and respect, because no story is the same.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and my journey into this work has been shaped by both my training and my years of experience within NHS mental health services. During this time, I’ve supported people facing a wide range of challenges, from hearing voices and living with Borderline Personality Disorder, to managing anxiety, autism, and the effects of trauma or abuse.
I’ve also worked alongside individuals who have struggled with anger, addiction, or who have felt lost and let down by other services. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening deeply and meeting people exactly where they are, without judgement or pressure.
I draw from Person-Centred, CBT, and Psychodynamic approaches, while also working creatively and flexibly depending on what feels right for each person. I believe therapy is about finding connection, understanding, and a way forward, because no story is the same.
