About me

I specialise in working with children, teens, students and young professionals.

There are many pressures and expectations at this time in life. I'd like to help unpick what is going on for you and help you let go of anything holding you back, so you can live the life you want.

What I can Help with..

Difficult family, friends or romantic relationships. Low mood, depression, having no motivation to get up. Stress and anxiety connected with school, university or work. Social pressures that have you second guessing yourself or feeling like you don't fit in. Feeing lost, confused and unsure of your purpose in life.

You may have a very specific worry, maybe something related to your sexuality, gender, or a sexual trauma. You may be concerned about your eating or drinking habits. Anger and emotional regulation may be an issue for you or maybe you have lost someone close to you and you are struggling. I can help with all of these things and more.

How I work

I offer therapy online, so you can fit it in with your life. We can also arrange to have sessions in your school, university or work place, if there is a private space and all parties are in agreement. If suitable, I can also provide walking and talking therapy sessions.

It’s your therapy and I aim to be a collaborator in getting you to where you want to be. We work at your pace, with no pressure to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

I aim to create a calm, safe and judgment free environment and opportunity for you to explore any concerns you may have. We can spend sessions talking or we can be more creative and use art, craft, games, music and other techniques to unpick what is going on for you.

Sessions are private and confidential.

Your First Session

The first session will be different to the rest as it's an important time for me to get to know you and understand what you would like help with. I will ask lots of questions, but we will go at your pace and you don't need to talk about anything you don't want to.

In the first session we can start to pinpoint what you want to get out of therapy and set goals, if that's helpful. As sessions continue and I hear more of your story and better understand what life is like for you, we can try different techniques to find what works best for you. We can simply talk in sessions or if you'd like, we can work more creatively.

I usually suggest to start with 6 sessions, as it takes time to build a relationship. We can then review how things are going and see what's working and whether you want to continue.

Training, qualifications & experience

I've been in practise for 5 Years, I've worked in schools, the NHS, CAMHS and Barnardo's. I have worked with a number of young people struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, running away from home, refusing to go to school, disordered eating and other risky behaviours. These are all things I can support you and your child with.

I'm happy to liaise with schools, universities, social workers, social services, GP's, specialist services, parents and carers, on your behalf, if needed.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
