About me
We often feel like we have to resolve things alone and that if we can't we have somehow failed, but that's not an accurate or fair judgement to make of ourselves. People aren't at their best alone, in fact, the opposite is true and by sharing life's challenges, we can find hope where there previously was none. Expressing our most challenging thoughts and feelings, however, can be easier said than done which is why it's helpful to have someone outside of our everyday life who can listen without judgement and that is what I offer.
Whatever your challenges are, I want to understand fully what those challenges are, how they are affecting you and how I can work with you to find a way forward.
My aim is to provide support, therapeutic skills and knowledge so that you can find ways to alleviate the symptoms of whatever you are experiencing and you can then start to live more in line with what you ideally want. I will be by your side to listen, to enquire, to reassure and to guide you in the direction that you would like to go.
Reasons for seeking counselling are as varied and unique as people are themselves so my aim is to find the approach that is as unique as you are. It may be that your aim is to improve relationships, reduce stress, resolve a dilemma, work through a difficult experience, increase resilience, increase personal agency, find purpose or simply to have space to be yourself without judgement. These are just a few examples and your reasons for seeking therapy may be entirely different. There is no issue too big or too small that may require assistance.
Making Contact can seem a small step but it's often the most difficult part because few of us like to ask for support, but rest assured, you will be treated with the utmost respect and compassion.
Email me leaving a brief description of what you are looking for, call or leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I offer an introductory phone call or first session free of charge to make sure you are comfortable and that my service fits the bill.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
