About me

If you're at the first stages of looking for some help and support around your mental health and wellbeing - well done for making it to this page! Through counselling I will help you explore your thoughts feelings and behaviours, so you can get a better understanding of yourself and those around you. I will help you find your own solutions to many issues ranging from anxiety and overwhelm to depression and low mood, whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems. I provide individual counselling face to face or from the comfort and safety of your own home via phone or video appointments. I work with you, for you and at your pace so that in time and in a safe space, you can begin to feel better, stronger and having taken that one step forward towards hope and your future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified integrative therapist, so I blend a range of approaches (person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic) to offer therapy that helps to get the best results for you. I have a degree in Social Psychology and Sociology and have twenty years of experience supporting people in the community and voluntary sector with a wide range of needs.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
