About me

Hi, I’m Kal, thank you for stopping to read my profile. Finding the right counsellor is hard enough without having to read through so many counsellor bio’s to find the one that is right for you. I've been there myself when looking for a counsellor and yes even counsellors have therapy. How else would I be able to relate to what you are looking for and needing.

This a huge step in itself and it’s okay to ask for help and reach out to trained professionals who can help guide and support you along your life journey which is full of highs and lows.

Counselling to me should provide you with a safe, non-judgemental space inclusive to all differences.  I thrive to provide this for all my clients and work with and through whatever issues you may bring.  I have experience working with grief and loss, alongside general anxiety and depression.

I work with an integrative approach in mind, which simply means I apply and use different theories depending on the needs of the individual, no one size fits all. Most importantly you will always be seen and treated as a unique individual. The work we do will be dependent on the trust and the therapeutic relationship we build.

I’d like to share a bit about myself and my journey to becoming a qualified counsellor which has been very personal and life changing.  Being a qualified health professional for over 20 years and finding my career path unsatisfying and not representative of my core values, I choose to make a change.  It took the pain and loss of a loved one for me to recognise how important this journey was to me.  We can all feel lost and overwhelmed at times and not know where to turn I would like to help you find your inner strength.

To find out more about how I work and whether I am the right counsellor for you please don’t hesitate to give me a call or drop me an email. I offer a free 15 minute call to see if we are the right fit for each other.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
