Counsellor & Integrative Creative Supervisor - BACP (Accred)

About me

It can be easy for you to prioritise the needs of others without realising how little priority you give to your own. You might notice a lingering sense of guilt or feel that no matter how much you do, it never feels quite enough.

You might be the calm, capable one whose in control on the outside, but inside  feeling overwhelmed, tired or quiet anxiety. You may find yourself overthinking, perhaps second-guessing, or even carrying a constant sense of pressure to get things right.

I offer counselling for adults who are often used to coping well but feel the strain beneath the surface. I have experience of working with people from all walks of life, but more particularly of working with people experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, over-responsibility, and often have difficulty switching off.

I know first-hand that life isn’t always easy. I’ve walked through my own challenges, trials, and tribulations and have lived experience, which is something I bring into the work I do. You’re not just getting support, you’re getting out-of-the-box interventions along with someone who gets it.

My clients tell me that I’m compassionate, flexible and gently challenging. Therapy with me is shaped around you and what feels most helpful, creating space to explore your experiences, understand patterns, and reconnect with your sense of self without judgment or pressure.

In addition, I’m trained as a Creative Art Therapist, and if you would like me to do so, I can introduce creative therapeutic approaches which might include working with image, metaphor, music, or the simple use of line, shape, and colour. This is a gentle way of exploring thoughts and feelings that can be hard to put into words and you don’t need to be artistic or have any drawing skills.

I provide online, telephone, and walk-and-talk counselling in and around Porth, Cornwall, so you can choose a way of working that fits alongside your life.

Counselling can support you to:

  • Understand your unique patterns that can contribute to stress, self-doubt, or overthinking
  • Feel less caught up in constant self-questioning and build a steady confidence
  • Reconnect with your individual needs, values, and sense of identity
  • ease feelings of guilt and the weight of responsibility
  • Find more calm around racing thoughts, especially at night

This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding yourself better so that you can feel less on edge and more at ease in yourself as you move forward.

So, whether you are looking for counselling, are a trainee counsellor or want to work creatively in supervision, I look forward to hearing from you!

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
