About me

I believe that every person has an innate capacity for growth and healing. Sometimes, life presents us with challenges that feel overwhelming - whether it's anxiety that won't quiet down, difficult memories from a traumatic past, or simply feeling lost or stuck in the present. Together we can make sense of what you're experiencing and find a way forward that is unique to you and your journey.

My practice is a cosy room in the heart of the Dorset countryside, at the base of Hod Hill. If the idea of being inside sets your teeth on edge, I offer walk and talk sessions in the local area too.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I am bound by their ethical framework of standards for professionalism, safety, and confidentiality. I also hold an active DBS and have up-to-date safeguarding training to work safely and professionally with adults and young people.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what will be most helpful for you. Above all, I value creating a genuine, human connection - a relationship built on trust where you feel truly seen and heard.

I have specific interest and experience working with people who have suffered PTSD or developmental trauma which affected attachment. I have worked with a wide range of people both in schools (children and young adults) and in the NHS (young adults and adults), who have sought counselling to support themselves or the people that they care about. These range from fostered or adopted families and/or individuals, adults bereaved as children and boarding school attendees; historic or current.

I have over a decade’s worth of experience working in mental health, including for the NHS, in education and care.

Personally, I understand the toll of working in high-pressured and demanding environments such as hospitality, education, and social care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
