About me

I am offering a safe space just for you. These times in life can be rare, just time to focus on yourself, to talk and explore the impact the past or the present situation is having on you. a time of reflection to understand yourself, to manage and explore your emotions and behaviours. To learn to recognise why and how you respond to situations and help in identifying ways to empower you and be more in control by understanding yourself more with kindness and empathy. It may involve a loss of relationship, hurt, abuse, changes, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and family issues and many more.

'Come just as you are - but don't stay as you are'. Time for healing and growth.

I have also worked in a fast-paced corporate business environment and understand the complexities of the demands at work and the time management balancing work, life family and self.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm Jo, a qualified BACP accredited integrative counsellor offering a supportive, empathic and non-judgmental approach to exploring any struggles and challenges you may be facing in your life. Having different styles means I can use which one will help you the most. These include CBT, Person-centred, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused and Psychodynamic approaches, to respond to your particular needs sensitively, intelligently and flexibly. I have experience with anxiety, trauma, abusive relationships, sexual abuse, depression, divorce, learning to cope with loss and changes and difficult childhoods.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
