About me
Couples, relationship and individual therapy
Hello, I'm Jill. I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Relationship/Couple Therapist, providing online therapy for individuals and couples throughout the UK.
My practice focuses on relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression, as well as bereavement. I am passionate about helping clients navigate some of life's most challenging experiences with greater understanding, resilience and confidence.
Whether you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, struggling with anxiety, coping with loss, or facing a significant life transition, therapy can offer the space to gain clarity, process difficult experiences and move forward in a meaningful way.
Couples and relationship therapy
Relationship therapy has been a central part of my professional training and practice. Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist, I completed specialist relationship counselling training with Relate and gained extensive experience working with couples within a Relate practice.
Today, relationship work remains at the heart of what I do. I work with couples and individuals experiencing many issues including:
- Communication difficulties
- Conflict,
- Loss of intimacy
- Trust issues,
- Affairs and betrayal,
- Separation,
- Attachment concerns,
- Challenges that can arise within family and blended family relationships.
Not feeling connected in relationships, as well as lacking understanding as to what has gone wrong, can very easily foster feelings of isolation and frustration. My aim is to foster positive feelings through teaching more effective communication strategies, therefore enabling more intimacy and trust to develop.
I also support individuals who wish to better understand recurring relationship patterns, improve self-esteem, or develop healthier and more fulfilling connections with others. My aim is to help clients develop greater understanding, strengthen communication and create more satisfying relationships.
Anxiety, bereavement and emotional wellbeing
Alongside my specialist relationship work, I have considerable experience supporting clients affected by anxiety, depression, stress, low mood, grief and bereavement.
As an approved therapist for Anxiety UK, I have worked extensively with clients experiencing anxiety and its impact on relationships, work and everyday life.
Bereavement and loss are areas of particular experience within my practice. Following specialist training with Cruse Bereavement Support, I provided bereavement counselling directly to clients experiencing loss, working face-to-face within the community and through home visits. Supporting people during some of the most difficult periods of their lives has given me a deep appreciation of the many ways grief can affect us and the importance of having a compassionate space in which to process loss.
Whether loss is recent or longstanding, expected or sudden, therapy can help you make sense of your experience and find a way forward while honouring what has been lost.
An inclusive and individual approach
I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, identities and life experiences and am committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment.
I also have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and couples, including those navigating the impact of autism and ADHD within relationships, family life and emotional wellbeing. I recognise that people experience, communicate and process the world differently, and I adapt my approach to meet individual needs.
Professional background
Alongside my private practice, my professional experience has included supporting individuals, couples, families, carers and young people across a range of community, educational and counselling settings.
Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked and volunteered in a variety of roles, including youth mentoring, youth offending rehabilitation programmes and educational support services. I later worked within Children and Family Centres, providing counselling support to parents and carers, and taught within the adult education sector.
Following qualification, I worked within a counselling service supporting clients experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, identity issues and life transitions. These experiences continue to inform my understanding of the diverse challenges people face and reinforce my commitment to providing an inclusive and compassionate therapeutic environment.
How I work
As an integrative therapist, I tailor therapy to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. My work draws upon humanistic, existential, cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic perspectives, enabling us to explore both present-day difficulties and the deeper patterns that may be influencing them.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion and believe that you are the expert of your own story/narrative. This means that I help you to uncover your many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.
Above all, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy. I aim to provide a professional, collaborative and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, understood and supported in working towards the changes that matter most to you.
Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage and I truly hope that this will be the beginning of change for you, as you take your journey on the road to recovery and healing.
Online therapy
Since moving my practice online, I have undertaken specialist training in the delivery of online therapy and have many years' experience working successfully with both individuals and couples in this way.
Research has consistently shown that online therapy can be as effective as face-to-face therapy for many presenting issues, while offering greater flexibility, accessibility and continuity of support. Many clients appreciate being able to engage in therapy from the comfort, privacy and familiarity of their own environment.
Working online enables me to support individuals and couples across the UK, providing a secure, confidential and effective therapeutic space wherever you are based.
What to expect
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place online using a secure platform.
Our initial sessions provide an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, understand your goals and consider how we might work together most effectively. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and we will regularly review the work to ensure it remains relevant to your needs and circumstances.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

"I would like to sincerely thank Jillian for the incredible support and guidance provided during a very challenging time in my couple life. From the very first session, I felt a sense of comfort and understanding. She creates a safe and non-judgmental space where both of us could express our thoughts and feelings openly, something that we hadn’t been able to do on our own.
What I value most is how Jillian doesn’t take sides but helps us truly listen to one another, understand our differences, and find healthier ways of communicating. The tools and strategies we’ve learned have already started to make a positive difference in how we approach everyday conflicts and how we show affection and care toward each other. Thanks to Jillian, I feel more hopeful about the future of our relationship and more confident in our ability to work together as a team. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and effective support in strengthening their relationship".
