About me
Hi, I’m Jess, a local therapist in based in Cheadle, Stockport, specialising in women’s mental health. I can provide face-to-face sessions, telephone or online therapy. I am a down-to-earth counsellor and can support clients make changes that stick in their lives. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space to talk where my clients can be themselves and feel heard. I am integrative counsellor, which means I use the person-centred approach to counselling, but I can also use some CBT skills if you would like me to. I have completed training in working with neurodiverse clients, parents and clients who have experienced trauma.
I also have a lived experience of trauma and specialise in working with new parents, in particular mums. I can help you explore issues such as low mood, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, family issues, bereavement and parenting/work stress to name a few. I can provide a relaxed space for you to open up in a way that is tailored to your needs and goals and can work flexibly offering sessions in the daytime and some evenings.
I also have some limited spaces for those on low or no income, students and counselling trainees.
Here are some recent reviews from my clients: “ I started with Jess early this year looking for an open space that could help me navigate my overwhelm and anxieties within life. Jess provides a down to earth, relatable and personable experience within therapy. I feel safe and heard within every session and our conversations have been positively impactful on my life, they have given me space to explore my anxieties and help navigate my thoughts and feelings. I have already recommended Jess’s service to a close friend and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for meaningful therapy.“
“ Working with Jess has been such a positive experience. After struggling to connect with therapists through the NHS, I was relieved to find someone who felt genuinely approachable and easy to talk to. Jess creates a warm, non-judgmental space where I feel completely safe to open up. Our weekly sessions have not only helped me explore and understand my emotions, but she’s also supported me in developing practical tools to manage life’s challenges. Although there’s still more work to do, I genuinely feel like I’m on the right path and that I’ll achieve my goals with Jess by my side. I’m already in a better headspace and truly look forward to our sessions each week.”
