About me
Is life feeling difficult or unmanageable at the moment?
Perhaps you’re struggling with OCD, anxiety, feeling low or overwhelmed, finding relationships difficult, or experiencing thoughts, emotions, or behaviours that you don’t really understand. Maybe you know something doesn’t feel right, but you’re not sure why or where to start.
You may be experiencing OCD or intrusive thoughts that are taking up more and more space in your life, struggling with anxiety that feels difficult to control, dealing with addiction or behaviours that you feel ashamed of, or going through a significant life change such as menopause or perimenopause.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to work it all out on your own.
I offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, talk openly and explore what has been going on. My aim is to help you feel heard and understood, while supporting you to develop a greater understanding of yourself and find ways to move forward.
OCD & Anxiety
I have undertaken specialist CPD in OCD and have worked extensively with clients experiencing OCD and intrusive thoughts.
OCD can be incredibly distressing and consuming, with unwanted thoughts, images or urges and behaviours or compulsions that can begin to take over everyday life. I also work with generalised anxiety, panic, worry, and feeling overwhelmed, providing a safe space to understand what you are experiencing and explore ways of managing it.
Addiction
I have extensive experience working with addiction, including alcohol and other addictive behaviours.
I understand that addiction is rarely simply about the behaviour itself. There can be complex emotions and experiences underneath it, and shame can be a huge part of addiction, often making it incredibly difficult to ask for help.
I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore the underlying reasons behind addictive behaviours, understand the patterns that keep them going, and begin to develop healthier ways of coping.
Trauma & EMDR
Have you experienced something traumatic that still affects you?
Perhaps you experience flashbacks, upsetting memories, nightmares, or strong emotional or physical reactions to something that has happened in the past.
Sometimes, even when we know an event is over, our mind and body can continue to react as though we are still experiencing it.
I am a qualified EMDR therapist and can offer EMDR as part of our work together. EMDR can be particularly helpful following trauma, but can also be used to support people experiencing phobias, fears and other distressing experiences.
We can explore whether EMDR is appropriate for you and, if so, work at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Bereavement, Miscarriage & Baby Loss
Through my extensive experience working within a children’s hospice, I have supported individuals and families affected by life-limiting illness, bereavement and loss.
I have particular experience supporting people through bereavement, miscarriage, baby loss and the loss of a child.
Grief can affect everyone differently, and there is no right or wrong way to experience it. Counselling can provide a safe space to talk about your loss, whatever that looks like for you, without judgement or expectation.
Couples Counselling
Relationships can go through difficult periods, and sometimes it can feel as though you are stuck in the same arguments or patterns without knowing how to move forward.
I offer couples counselling to help partners better understand each other, communicate more openly and explore the patterns within their relationship.
This can be particularly helpful when couples are experiencing conflict, emotional distance, difficulties communicating, changes within their relationship, or challenges following significant life events.
My approach is non-judgemental and balanced, providing a safe space for both partners to feel heard and understood. The aim is not to decide who is right or wrong, but to understand what is happening within the relationship and explore whether positive change is possible.
Other Areas I Can Help With
I also work with:
- Low mood and depression
- Generalised anxiety
- Relationship difficulties
- Stress and overwhelm
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Life changes and transitions
- Menopause and perimenopause

My Approach
My approach is integrative, drawing on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.
This means I don't believe that one approach works for everyone. I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you, your circumstances and what you need from counselling.
I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of the therapeutic process. My role is not to judge you or tell you what you should do, but to provide a safe and supportive space where we can work together to understand what is happening and help you find a way forward.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Taking the First Step
There is no single reason to come to counselling, and you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Whether you are struggling with OCD or anxiety, addiction, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, menopause or perimenopause, or simply feeling that things have become too much, counselling can give you the time and space to understand what is happening and decide what you want to do next.
Sessions are available face-to-face, by telephone or via Zoom, offering a confidential and supportive space where we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.
If you feel ready to take that first step, I'm here to help.
