About me
I'm Jane, an integrative counsellor working with adults and teenagers. My approach is friendly, down-to-earth and collaborative, and I aim to offer a space where you can talk openly without judgement or pressure.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling in your relationships, or you may be affected by something from your past. Or you might simply want space to talk and understand yourself better.
You don’t need to have the right words or know where to begin. We can start wherever you are.
As an integrative counsellor, I tailor the way I work to each person. Sometimes that means simply having space to talk and feel heard, and at other times it may involve exploring patterns, relationships or finding practical ways to manage difficult thoughts and feelings.
I won’t tell you what to do or push you to talk about anything before you’re ready. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.
I welcome clients of all backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities, and aim to offer a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
I offer face-to-face counselling from my private room in Horsmonden, rural West Kent, as well as online sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling; AIMS Level 4 in Counselling Skills & Theory; AIMS Level 3 Certificate in Counselling and Hypnotherapy and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
As well as private practice, I have experience working with children in a school setting and have supported adults with anxiety, low mood, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, caring responsibilities, neurodiversity and life transitions within a local charity.
I also have a special interest in supporting people affected by acquired brain injury.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that reaching out can feel daunting, and finding the right counsellor is important.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call which can be booked via my website so you can share a little about what’s bringing you to counselling, ask questions, and see if you feel comfortable talking with me. There’s no obligation to continue.
Sessions are 50 minutes either online or in person. Your first session gives us time to explore what’s been going on and what you’d like from counselling – you don’t need to prepare anything.
